The Hawaiian state health official who personally reviewed Barack Obama's original birth certificate has affirmed again that the document is "real" and denounced "conspiracy theorists" in the so-called "birther" movement for continuing to spread bogus claims about the issue.

Something about the way the article is written. Fukino, the records person in Hawaii, is not directly quoted in key passages. You never learn whether she actually saw an original document and I question whether it is true that they cannot produce a photocopy EVEN IF zero was to authorize it. FReepers, please have at it.

Health Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino said she hoped to end lingering rumors about Obama’s birthplace.

“I ... have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen,” she said in a brief statement. “I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008 over eight months ago.”

Several things. First, Fukino is alleged to have said that she found the original birth certificate. But what kind of certificate are we talking about? The Coastal Province birth certificate, perhaps? We don't know.

Second, This is a second-hand statement. Is he misrepresenting what Fukino said earlier, has he interviewed her again, has she said what he claims? We don't know. Even an honest reporter could get it wrong.

Third, Michael Isikoff has a record as a liar and troublemaker, who was responsible for a number of innocent deaths because of his totally false story about flushing a Koran down the toilet at Guantanamo. He is a liar, willing to lie for propaganda purposes.

In other words, this means nothing. Why would the present Governor say that they had the birth certificate, and then say that they didn't? Clearly, the whole bunch of them are lying in order to cover up the basic Hawaiian-Democrat scam: giving false birth certificates to thousands or even millions of illegal immigrants, so as to build up their welfare system and build captive votes for their party. Do they really want people digging into THAT?
