Officer: "You tried to conceal your vehicle with a fake drive-out tag due to you not paying for your tags."
In any event, you and I would have been fitted with municipal jewelry and escorted from the scene.
AI, there is and has been only one guy in sports who was able to ask “Do you know who the hell I am?” and not sound like a petulant egomaniac...and in case you hadn’t noticed, you are not Evel Knievel.
“May I suggest using your nightstick, Officer?”
Who supports the NBA?
Holder’s people.
>Iverson just needed to spend the $50 to get his tags TWO YEARS ago, and none of this would have happened.
As the owner of a exotic car, I am far more interested in the fact that, without tags, he is probably carrying no insurance on the auto, hence the non current tag.
Imagine the insurance on that Lambo?
I remember when Marcus Allen was a rookie with the Raiders and he and his brand new Ferrari got yanked over by the LAPD....took a bit, because the occifer didn’t recognize him.
This “privileged” attitude starts in high school when star athletes are given passes for just about any infraction, and treated like royalty who don’t have to follow rules like everyone else. It gets worse in college and professional sports.
Guys like Tebow are the exception rather than the rule in pro sports these days.
Traffic cops have to be SOOOOO danged tired of hearing
“do you know who I am?”
A friend of mine has a brother who is on a suburban police force. He busts a certain local TV news personality at least 3 times a year. Always the same tirade. “Do you know who I am? I can have your badge!” Yadda yadda.
I cannot remember any traffic stop anywhere anytime where they let passengers leave (flee) the scene before investigating and confirming IDs
The plates had apparently expired 2 years earlier!!! Nevertheless, Iverson figured he be imPOtent muhfuggah, sheeeeeet.
My guess is a lot of these ballers don't have collision or theft insurance on these cars - cars that they often-times pay cash for. As you point out, the cost for collision and theft on a car like that would be enormous. It might just be smarter, financially, to take the loss on the asset rather than pay insurance for it.
That is the way they hade been raised throughout their life.
Through high school, college, and after college. They are led to believe that they are special and the rules only apply to the smucks, not them.
That’s the thing that disgusts me about professional athletes. By virtue of who they are, or who they THINK they are, they are convinced that the laws which all of us are expected to abide somehow don’t apply to them.
It is interesting to note though that this attitude of entitlement is said to be “white” in diversty race doctrines.” This is the central premise of diversity race doctrines about the innate character flaw of white Americans The racial superior sterotype of minorities is that they are far superior in character to whitey and would not take on this “white” sense of superiority.
It goes along with the theme that Obama is above having to show his birth certificate to answer questions about his qualifications. He is said to be insulted by a requirement that every other American must endure in life. Why? Because he’s entitled to special treatment placing him above the constitution? Is that because he’s a whitey racist?
I gave the state of California over 1200 dollars in minor traffic violations in the last 2 years for my family.
One cost 450 for photo enforced red light traffic cam when I did a CA-stop and turned left in NO traffic.
As far as I am concerned traffic-pigs are tax collectors and deserve little respect regarding their job. They are paid too much and many are too ignorant for their charge.
In GA you pay PPT. Also it is very common to see “tag applied for” signs in place of a license plate. Allen has been doing this for a couple of years obviously.
Blaxl Rose???
Yup. I rock a Lambo but I am paying taxes on a Cavalier
Driving isn't a right, it's a privilege. And, if you want to operate a vehicle on public roads, then - like everyone else - you have to pay the appropriate fees. Iverson's vehicle didn't have any license plates, even though he owned the vehicle for at least two years.
If everyone else in Georgia has to have plates and pay PPT, why should that loud-mouth be any different. I think the police did the absolute right thing here.
