Glenn Beck will end his daily Fox News Channel program later this year.

His departure was jointly announced in a statement on Wednesday by Fox and Mr. Beck’s company, Mercury Radio Arts. The statement did not specify an end date for the show, called “Glenn Beck,” which has been telecast at 5 p.m. on Fox News since early 2009.

NY Slimes:

“Fox News and Mercury Radio Arts, which have sometimes clashed over the making of “Glenn Beck,” will “work together to develop and produce a variety of television projects for air on the Fox News Channel as well as content for other platforms including Fox News’ digital properties,” the companies said in the statement.”

Not a surprise. His ratings have been falling for a while now from what I understand.

No one makes a chess move like this without having the next move planned.

Ought to be interesting to see what this "new phase" is...

I’m amazed he kept his radio and TV shows going as long as he did. I remember Rush talking about how difficult it was to do both. It takes a toll on one’s health.

lose, lose situation for Beck & Fox. Myself, I limit the comp time to FR, ect; but will watch Beck on his late show before heading off to bed. Probably completely lose track of him now. Maybe Beck just needs a break before he loses his mind.

What is Fox News thinking? What is the real story on this? Is Fox going the way of the baby food news? You know, news that has been pureed so you do not actually need to think about it. I do enjoy watching his show, it is very entertaining and thought provoking. Maybe the competition was just too much for him.

ah the Soros media matters, Van Jones, socialists, communists, bigots towards mormons and the establishment GOP will be having parties over this if true.

FOX gets rid of the only person who has balls to say what is going on with facts and their own voices and video’s

Given the quality of his guests I personally think he could be successful with his own cable channel...a sort of the historical analysis provided to today’s news and events by conservative experts in their respective fields. I would get my fix daily.

I have got to the point that even Fox News sucks to me. I am about tired of not having a true, honest, real, conservative news channel. Thus, I have to use the Internet to SEARCH for the truth in the news every day. The stinking press does not reveal it.

FOX has been going more left recently and they are giving way for Soros and media matters I bet.

Like I said socialists, communists, bigots towards mormons, establishment GOP and the loon left are all happy I bet as now they can do their dirty work and not be reported on

what ever anyone says about Beck the facts are that we would not know half of what is going on and Van Jones would still be there

a big-time mistake for both Fox and Beck but most of all it is a serious downfall for the American citizen. We need this messenger to keep the listeners focused and energized, IMO.

"FOX gets rid of the only person who has balls to say what is going on with facts and their own voices and video’s "

Yup...we're the big losers though.

I guess 'spooky dude' and his numerous organizations that have been attacking Beck have won. To bad...America has lost a real patriotic voice.

if Beck goes then all is left is a bit of Kelly.

Hannity is no conservative
O.R is just a big mouth
Martha in the morning is a left wing woman who is showing her true colors recently
the other programs I can’t be bothered

shep smith,
Geraldo
Martha
all need to go first
then followed by Hannity

Olbermann gets fired and starts his own Twitter channel.

Beck quits and starts his own cable channel.

Back when I used to listen to Beck's radio show, I remember him talking about a 4-camera shoot for his webcast. I knew then he was laying the groundwork for something much bigger. That was overkill production for just a webcast.

He's a master at drawing a crowd. If he takes over a cable channel, he knows what to do to get viewers.

I was bored of his TV show over a year ago. However, his radio program is fine. But too much lecturing on TV mostly about stuff I already knew,my school days were over years ago with a second degree.

When Beck was reporting on the events of the day, and exposing the Shadow Party, he was VERY EFFECTIVE, and had the Democrats terrified.

When he began wandering off in to religion and conspiracies, he lost a lot of folks, including me.
