“I doubt 10% of the people that live there Republicans.”

I know the feeling.

The libs play the same game in Massholechusetts:

We lived in marvelous Marin for a few years in the early 1970’s. The only republicans we saw were ourselves and a few second and third generation Japanese/Americans and a few corporate rinos in drag. The rinos after they retired became full fledged rats.

The left wing leaders of Marin have worked very hard to drive up the prices of simple homes every day/week/month/year which basically freezes out any minorities.

No tears from here for the elite white rats in marvelous Marin.

Marin County Results 2008 Presidential Election:
County Votes County %————————State Votes State %
Barack Obama(Dem)—109,320 for 78.1%——8,063,473 61.1%
John McCain Rep-——28,384 for 20.3%-——4,902,278 37.1%

A morning radio show in the Twin Cities always plays that bit from the movie.

A good funny movie about Marin County lifestyles is this one,

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081485/

Even though it was from 1980, I heard the movie’s points held up a while.

RE: “..and as the busses pull in, everyone there will pull up stakes, and make another ‘Marin County’ somewhere else...
All the power to them for doing it too.”

***************

As a very liberal employer of mine used to say to me privately — here in the Los Angeles area decades ago — “WE have to keep moving to keep two steps ahead of THEM.”

Hmmm.......... I knew who ‘them’ was but publically he was all about diversity, blah blah blah...
Hypocrite!

I live in Alameda County, the Commie Left is 100% against WHITE PEOPLE, not the “DIVERSITY” they espouse. If Fremont is 70% Asian (Islamist, Indian, Chinese, Korean, etc.) where is the hue and cry for more Whites to move there?

If Oakland is nearly 75% Black and Mexican, where is the push to attract Whites to that area?

The answer is that Whites USED to live there, they just don’t want to, anymore. The Hood and Barrio are cesspools of poverty, violence, prostitution and drugs, supported by the welfare state.

Liberalism causes this disparity, yet they want to import more “Diversity” into areas that PEOPLE NEVER EARNED, it was “given”.

I think Marin is beautiful, filled with what America was back 50 years ago with sad-sad Liberals who cry when a tree is cut and who fret over Global Warming.

Santa Rosa is in Sonoma County and you’re right, with a population of approx.350,000,it has to be at at least half Hispanic. My daughter works in the schools and said:”the schools are now crap”.Kids can’t speak English and the parents want to sue, sue, sue, because their kids are poor students. No trouble learning the word sue.

Nothing a massive Section 8 housing initiative won't 'solve'. Wonder what the liberal Marin county white folks really think of those programs.

I was a little curious about that “Diablo, CA” which I have never heard of. Thanks to Google, it looks like “Diablo, CA” is actually either in San Ramon or Danville, or possibly in some unincorporated area in between. It’s right up the street from where I went to high school.

And yeah, I don’t remember many black kids in high school. There were plenty of Asians and Hispanics, as I recall. I guess they don’t count when it comes to “diversity.”

All of the “minorities” live in Marin City. Marin County does have a ghetto, but it’s all in one place. The rest of it is so white you have to wear sunglasses at midnight! But they are all Liberal! I don’t think the Republicans even have a county committee there. John Walker Lind, the American Taliban grew up there!

Marin City started to “gentrify” in the late 1990s, and then there’s the Canal area of San Rafael, which is where most of the illegal alien population resides. Go to the post office around Bellam Ave in San Rafael or Redwood Blvd in Novato and there’s not a shortage of “cheap day labor” who will do yard work, etc, for the wealthy, milquetoast, hot-tub liberals of Marin.

Grew up in Marin during the early sixties. Marinwood, Terra Linda, San Rafael area. Nice middle class bedroom suburbs. Left in 66 and came back in 72 after tours in VN and went to Marin JC for a while. Lived all over the county, Mill Valley, San Anselmo, Novato and the place had turned into a hippy commune. To much was not enough, peacock feathers and hot tubs, not to mention the herbs from further north.
Place got sad and I left in the 80’s.
But whatever happened to Marine City? Large black community near Sausalito just before the Waldo grade? I believe it grew from blacks that came and worked in the boat yards during WWII. Haven't been back in 30 years.

Well hell yes Marin is all white. Where else in the world can the average home owner hire white gardeners with phds in botany and horticulture to mow the lawn and clean the pool? and how diverse was Hearst Castle, developed and owned by the founder of the Frisco Comical...

The Left is against anybody who wants to succeed through hard work. My Hong Kong friend informed me most of the people he has met since moving to the Bay Area are Lefties, no matter what their race.

As to the sadness of Libs, he said many will throw a tantrum if their wine or coffee is not at the right temperature, like at the Inverness party I mentioned.

I don’t think the folks who live in Marin City would mow your lawn, nor would you probably want them to:

http://www.metroactive.com/papers/sonoma/12.01.04/marin-city-0449.html

When I lived in Marin County (34 years) I went to Marin City a couple of times to visit the famed Marin City Church of God. Otherwise I wouldn’t go near the place.
