If you say Utah, to an avid gun lover, you are likely to get feedback about the state's concealed firearm permit. It's one of the most popular, and to some, controversial from coast to coast.
Collins says Utah being a great place for guns is a universal view by both people who approve and disapprove of the reputation

I love this state
Tennessee and some other states have concealed carry...
Based on couple of visits over a thirty year period, so do I. But I also love the ocean, ten blocks from my home. What to do, what to do?
>>The White House says one in three American school children, nearly 3-million, report being bullied each school year.<<
The White House puts out more manure in a single year than the combined livestock feedlots in North America.
Right now there are 39 “shall issue” states, or states in which CC licenses are not required at all. Only Illinois and Wisconsin DENY the Constitutional right to bear arms, while 9 other states make one jump through ridiculous hoops.
Actually, Wisconsin is an open carry state, believe it or not! So I wouldn't say they "DENY the Constitutional right" so much as that they "infringe" on it. Still not good. But with the Gov. Doyle finally gone, pro-rights bills that have already passed previous legislatures and failed only because of his commie veto, are being brought back out, so keep an eye on WI.
Plus, the legislature has an even more pro-rights composition than when they passed those bills. Pro-rights legislation including shall-issue CCW and perhaps even Constitutional carry has an excellent chance this session.
I think KSL got the picture all wrong.
There, that's better.
I got this in a eMail yesterday...
You may have heard on the news about a southern California man that was put under 72-hour psychiatric observation when it was found that he owned 100 guns (by rough estimate) and had 1 million rounds of ammunition stored in his home.
The house also featured a secret escape tunnel. My favorite quote from the dimwit television reporter “Wow! He has ... about a million machine gun bullets.” The headline referred to it as a “massive weapons cache.”
BTW, I am dubious about the pile of ammunition boxes and cans that they showed. It looked big enough to contain no more than about 100,000 rounds, unless there was a lot of .22 rimfire ammo.
However, by southern California standards, even someone owning 100,000 rounds would be called “mentally unstable.”
Just imagine if he lived elsewhere:
In Arizona , he’d be called “an avid gun collector”
In Texas , he’d be called “a novice gun collector”
In Utah , he’d be called “moderately well prepared,” but they’d probably reserve judgment until they made sure that he had a corresponding quantity of stored food.
In Montana , he’d be called “The neighborhood ‘Go-To’ guy.”
In Idaho , he’d be called “a likely gubernatorial candidate.”
And, in Wyoming he’d be called “an eligible bachelor.”
Classic Gun Porn...;-)
