UPDATED - Illegals Wearing USMC Uniforms Caught in Allegedly Stolen Van with Gov't Plates

About a week before the authors of a Center for a New American Security (CNAS) report warned that the most dangerous threat to the United States and its allies in the Western Hemisphere is the growth of powerful transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), the Marine Corps Operations Center received a disturbing OPREP-3 from the Marine Corps Air Station at Yuma, Ariz.

It was a situation report that counter-cartel authorities told Homeland Security Today could represent a troublesome new development in the smuggling of illegals into the US.

An OPREP-3 is an advisory on a specific significant event that is required to be issued to the highest levels of command.

And this OPREP-3 was certainly significant. It alerted that on March 11, 11 undocumented aliens who’d managed to enter the US from Mexico had been caught wearing US Marine Corps Marine Pattern (MARPAT) desert digital Battle Dress Uniforms (BDUs).

But more troubling than that, when they were stopped by alert Border Patrol agents near Campo, Calif., the 11 illegals and the three US citizens (who were wearing Marine woodland digital BDUs) traveling with them were driving an allegedly stolen vehicle with altered US Government license plates.

The best part of this story is that each and every one had on a uniform with the name “Perez.”

This whole "Just doing the job Americans don't want to do." BS is getting out of hand.

What I don't get is they went to all the trouble to steal or make fake uniforms, ID, and badges, steal a van, steal government plates, then, they do a half-a** job in modifying the plates (to make a 0 look like an 8). It is almost like someone wanted them caught.

Actually that is normal criminal behavior, I see it all the time. They do a great job on parts and then blow something like that. That is how many are caught- the one or two really stupid things trip them up.

But lots of folks have the same last names and in any event it appears that the uniforms were not being worn when the border was crossed.

Following “interrogations” by Border Patrol, it was “revealed that the van passed into the US from Mexicali, Mexico [at the CBP Calexico Port of Entry] and proceeded to Calexico, Calif. where the USMC uniforms were donned,” according to the OPREP-3 on the incident.

To one of suspicious mind, this might suggest that the uniforms were donned, not to cross the border, but for some other reason.

Most common means of identification can be forged. Stolen uniform and gummit plate this time, maybe forged next time.

Oddly enough I was just thinking about how Timothy McVeigh got stupid and tried to escape in a car that didn't have any plates. He was a really smart guy according to the reports. It's strange how he could have done something like that.

It could also be possible they were on their way to pick up their weapons and final briefing before approaching their intended target[s]. We'll never know since they'll be immediately deported....

This is troubling for sure but it was gut wrentching seeing zero wearing a USMC tee shirt while playing the hoops.
