Well, no bad news for a while, no news is good news. There has been some steam release, but that is possibly planned venting.
Relax. But your post has a positive side too. It shows just how sensitive our air-passenger rad detection equipment is. That’s good.
Funny you should mention the bleached blond with the gleam in her eye- I was channel surfing saw a reporter matching that description. This wild-eyed blond was practically screaming that the Japanese reactors were “spewing radiation” into the air. If she had seemed more credible I might have been as frightened as some are about all this.

For all to view...post 17 ...
Perspective...some real perspective is needed to understand what they are facing. It’s not like they can just get on the road with supplies or pull into a port chuck full of debris and human bodies or even use the Sendai airport...

Amateurs think tactics. Professionals think logistics.
We have a lot of amateurs on FR, not as many professionals.
Thank goodness she was wearing that low-cut top, otherwise I might have listened to her too...
Only kidding. I don’t watch television at all...because I know what I will see.
But, but, but I thought the new motto was 'don't worry, be happy'...
This is probably the only “OMG the world is ending” thread I’ve even looked at.
Suffice to say, just as with the Gulf oil spill, the damages caused by Big Press will drawf the actual damages to the powerplants.
I know they are all trying to sensationalize it, but for God’s sake, how much more sensational can they make it????
A 9.1 Earthquake. A 21+ foot tsunami. Multiple possible reactor meltdowns.
And they feel like they have to sensationalize it. It is the single most sensational thing I think I have seen in my life. Just amazing, the breathless panic. The best example of that was the day after someone saw a wave from a helicopter and thought it was another tsunami coming in...they completely freaked everyone out.
Not to mention that the magenta color is nearly the same for both extremes, thus making it appear that the “100 units” level is making it across the pacific ocean if you’re not careful. Utter propaganda and fear mongering.
By the way, heres a really good high-level summary of what has been going on, by someone who is both technically knowledgeable and who can write.

Pournelles site and Free Republic are the only two sites I support with money. Well, and Michael Yon from time to time.
OHare and DFW airports are already reporting that Japanese passengers and luggage have radiation levels. Its also in the planes air systems.
Did Japanese people and luggage get the geiger counter check before this event, if not how does Ohare or DFW know if levels are different than prior to this event.
Don Henley is a lib piece of s**t. This is full on propaganda and ALL (Obama) TV is sh*t. Keep watching and keep supportin the one with your viewership.
It is not nuke power it is EVERYTHING. TV is such a great control tool for controlling sheep/serfs/dhiminis.
Oh, calm down. He’s slamming TV news in that song, and he’s pretty spot on in his “take” on it. And I don’t watch TV news.
Or much of anything else on TV, as far as that goes, especially on the main networks.
Good I am glad they sunk that smelly piece of crap.
“This may be a stupid question but is the media actually TRYING to cause a panic????”
yes.
TENS OF THOUSANDS HAVE DIED from the massive earthquake / Tsunami. The worst catastrophe in Japan since WWII.
They ignore this massive tragedy, and they are focussed on a relatively insignificant (albeit serious) nuclear powerplant situation in which nobody so far has died, and where risks of massive death are nil.
An answered prayer.
May God bring them comfort and continued strength.
Hey, it ain’t braggin’ if it’s true.
Whatever you do, don't tell poor ex-tex that they're using dihydrogen monoxide on those reactors. If he knew that more people die every year from DHMO than have died in all the reactor accidents in the history of the world, he'd crap his pants.
