Well, now. Apparently that last post struck some sort of nerve, as it resulted in a record one day traffic spike at Iowahawk (don't like to brag, but it was up there in the multi-dozens). It also resulted in an email tsunami. The correspondence included a few critiques, some thoughtful, some stupid. Let's dispense with the stupid one first.
I'm temporarily handling the Iowahawk ping list while dighton is away.
Please let me know if you want to be added to or removed from the list.
Please ping me to Iowahawk articles. Thanks. :)
Nice to see Iowahawk taking out the hammer and tongs again!
Add me pls.
Done. :)
Wow. Impressive. I didn’t realize that Iowahawk was a statistical genius as well as a quarterpanel expert.
Long read, but well, well worth it!
wow
I really appreciated his post pointing out the REAL reason for higher test scores in WI than in TX. I am a true blue conservative but the argument had not even occurred to me.
I need a cigarette.
Phew. That was gooooood.
Excellent article — thanks for posting it.
Yeah, what a great comeback. Of course pea brains of Krugman’s ilk don’t have the capability of understanding the facts that prove them wrong.
How do you insult an idiot that is too stupid to know when he has been insulted?
Insult him anyways.
He destroyed Krugman. Laid complete waste to him, and the argument that public education is at all effective in providing the means for education.
Yeah, why not?
We raised a homeschooler that graduated from a top college with honors...at 20. And Krugman better hope he never gets into with her. He'd look like a shuffling drooler after she finished with him. Oh, wait, what would that prove? He makes himself look like that every day.
He has indeed destroyed Krugman. Elegantly.
Some bloggers have hinted that Dave Burge's day job involves heavy-duty statistical analysis. This Krugman dissection plus the excellent Iowahawk analysis of the Climategate scientists' "hockey stick" shenanigans lead me to suspect that if Burge is not a well qualified statistician, he must LIVE in a Holiday Inn Express.
Somehow in the hurly-burly over Climategate - which I followed obsessively - I missed Iowahawk’s analysis.
His satires of campus liberals are so amazingly spot on I have long thought he must be a professor or live in a university community. He obviously knows the high-end stats out the wazoo.
Super-smart and Super-funny and a motor-head besides! Is there anything he can’t do?
Excellent! Thanks for posting EveningStar.
The Hawk ROCKS!
