WASHINGTON (AP) -- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who says he's struggled with a weight problem most of his life, thinks first lady Michelle Obama is doing well to speak in favor of healthy eating and exercise.

Her national initiative targeting childhood obesity has drawn criticism from some conservatives who see it as an example of the government trying to exert more control over people's lives.

What’s the deal with fat Republicans? First Huckabee and now Christie. If they are so ashamed of their infattedness, then go on a diet. Don’t kiss Michelle’s ample booty over a fascist diet manifesto.

Stop feeding the kids 1000 calories in school. We weren’t fat because we didn’t eat a muffin AND fruit AND cereal AND milk AND juice....We had milk and cereal and walked to school.

Smart move on his part. It will water down any criticism of his weight in his re-election-for-governor campaign.

So he can’t lose his lard without government guidance? He doesn’t know how to exercise and cutback on fatty food without the feds telling him how?

And by extension I guess everyone else that’s overweight currently has no clue on how to lose weight without the lardass first l*dy telling them how and what to do?

No wonder we are in a bad situation.

One word for Chris Christie: Atkins!

I’ve been on it for over three years now and I haven’t been this healthy since my days in the military.

We don’t need no stinkin’ politician’s wife wasting billions in taxpayer dollars to force kids to eat nutritional foods. What we do need is more personal responsibility.

Cheers

thinks first lady Michelle Obama is doing well to speak in favor of healthy eating and exercise.

If I want to be rich... I'll ask questions of successful self-made individuals.

If I wanted to be lean and fit, I certainly wouldn't ask for the opinion of Michelle since she is obviously having trouble with her own weight. [common sense alert]

I really don’t understand the reaction to Michele Obama. She has supported healthy food and physical activity. It’s just a good idea. Just because Michele Obama agrees that it is good, doesn’t change thing and make these things bad.

Sorry, that was about drugs and this is about protecting our kids from food, which is much more series. I'm afraid Federal intervention will be necessary.

Why doesn't the Food Czar mention the recent Monsanto Roundup scandal? She wants to control what we eat, but no mention of the poisoning of the food supply by a giant political donor.

Supporting it is fine, but standing before the National Restaurant Association and suggesting they cut portions (for adults) and change their children's menus to include "healther options" is not. The children have parents to see to their nutrition, and we adults have ourselves. She is crossing the line by using her position to make our decisions for us. The fact that she does it while walking around with a ginormous rear end adds hypocrisy to the mix.

Way to kiss the Wookie’s nanny-state ass, Christie.

AP loves any GOP politician who side with anything Liberal or praising of Obama or his Lefty crew...

That’s why McCain and the Maine Twins are invited to all the Hollywood/DC functions and are on TV and the NYT, they “understand” the Marxist way and are willing to go with it.

Scott “Playgirl” Brown may be the next in the RINO hunt.
