Victory Alert: Abortion Clinic Safety Passes Senate!!

In a historic vote, the state Senate today approved legislation that requires the Board of Health to create regulation for abortion centers in Virginia! After over two decades of hiding behind a veil of political secrecy, abortion centers in Virginia will now face greater scrutiny and better health standards.

After a long and passionate debate on the Senate floor, the vote was 20-20 with Lt. Governor Bill Bolling casting the deciding vote in favor of the bill!

We will provide more information on this tremendous victory later.

Considering what this was about I wouldn't turn my back on any of the VA Senate Dems in the future ~ too dangerous.

When you find people voting in favor of killing women inside an abortuary, or infecting them with lethal bacteria, or collecting baby fingers to make into necklaces ~ you are definetly one sick person.

I am glad for this on some counts, still, the evil of making safe abortion centers is repellent.

It’s like health and safety requirements at Auschwitz.

Yes, but now the standards for hygiene can become ver-r-r-ry stringent!

Please thank Democrat Senators Colgan and Puckett for voting with Republicans, so this bill would pass...

What did you imagine the guy in Philadelphia was going to do with them?

He's part of the same racket the Democrats in Virginia love to protect ~

Kinda odd to see the liberals argue that medical clinics shouldn’t be THAT safe.

If you miscarry at any stage, they have to take you to the hospital to remove the baby. They cannot do it in the doctors office unless the baby is alive.

I hear ya. Kinda struggled with this one for that reason too, but in the end I figured it’s something like the health care issue. Obviously Obamacare is a setup that will fail - so we end up with govt single payer health care.

I don’t want to be the same way in this case, letting abortion centers stay as dirty, disease infested chophouses just to advance the issue. Strictly regulating abortion centers will have a number of positives that make it worth it.

Requiring decent sanitation for abortuaries - even making them as clean as nail salons - will shut some of them down, and will raise the costs of others. Result - fewer dead babies, and fewer injured or dead mothers. Any law that increases the cost or reduces the convenience of abortion deters some customers, which is why the Death Eaters fight *everything*, even basic cleanliness.

FRC Praises Virginia State Senate for Adopting Safer Abortion Clinic Standards
February 24, 2011

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Family Research Council President Tony Perkins today praised the Virginia State Senate for adopting safer health standards for abortion clinics.

As a Louisiana state representative, Perkins authored a law in 1999 that held abortion clinics to the same standards as other medical facilities. The legislature overwhelmingly passed the law after a woman nearly died from an abortion performed in Baton Rouge.

Family Research Council Tony Perkins made the following comments:

“The Virginia State Senate took a significant step today toward protecting women’s health at abortion clinics. If we cannot accept sub-standard care that would jeopardize women’s health in other areas, such as post-natal care, we cannot accept it from abortion clinics.

“We urge the governor to quickly sign this legislation which places women’s health above politics. Dr. Kermit Gosnell’s practice is an example of what can happen in states where basic standards are not enforced by health authorities. Gosnell’s grisly practice of killing infants and tormenting women will stand as one of the most horrific discoveries in Pennsylvania state history. This millionaire doctor raked in $15,000 a day - more than enough money to afford clean equipment and a trained staff. But, like so much of the abortion industry, his business wasn’t about caring for women or vaccinating children. It was about profit.

“Everyone, including abortion facility operators, should be able to agree that abortion clinics should not operate with less oversight than veterinary clinics, as they do in many states. Women deserve much better,” concluded Perkins.

Abortion Clinic Safety bill passes VA Senate!!!

Considering the mortality rate among people who enter abortion mills as patients (about 50% - primarily the younger half of their patients), it's about time they made these disgusting places safer.

If Obama is in typical form, look for VA to be sued.

The fedgov logic:

We need to have lower standards and practices so that more women will have greater access to safer and cleaner abortion facilities. (I didn’t say it would make sense.)

Following the Civil War, there are accounts of black families that would not allow Democrats in their homes for fear of being killed by them.

“Better health standards?” What screwy terminology we use, when one out of two patients don’t come out of the clinic alive.

This 50% death-rate figure for women seems much too high to be real. Do you have a source?

(Of course, we know it is 100% mortality for the fetus.)
