Had this been a Mexican agent killed you know we would have hourly updates and this administration would be out in full force to find the killers.
Usually, Third World governments are terrified armed foreigners are there to overthrow them (which is why all those cargo ship crews find themselves forced to travel unarmed right into the hands of Somali pirates) but since that is clearly impossible in this case we can only assume the Federal Police want to retain the option to easily kill any US agent who sees too much. I don't blame Calderon directly, but he could fix this. Unless US politicians are really behind it, attempting to make sure their bribe payments are not interdicted.
SHOCK The Obama administration just cut Mexico's Merida Initiative federal grant money down to $300 million in his cockamamie trillion dollar budget.
WHAT IS THE MERIDA INITIATIVE? The US Congress passed legislation in late June 2008 to provide Mexico with $400 million and Central American countries with $65 million that year for the Mérida Initiative---to fight drug wars. The initiative was announced 22 Oct 2007 and signed into law June 30, 2008.
THE FACTS ARE THESE : Mexico is calculatedly staging the "war on drugs" ------- with a hidden agenda------to wage war against the United States USING OUR TAX DOLLARS. Mexico has infiltrated the US political system, from domestic to foreign policy, AND US L/E, using deceit and guile. The mexican govt is sending millions of Reconquista shock troops over the border (illegal aliens) cueing them in WRT taking the US system.

Mexico is extorting US tax dollars to support Mexico's Marxist/terrorist movement via the Merida Initiative----which is Mexico's sub rosa plan to arm its police and military using US tax dollars, in order to safeguard the safety of terrorists and drug cartels across the border.

Clearly, the Mexican govt is fomenting drug violence in order to: (1) get billions of dollars in US assistance, and, (2) to help their populations flee over the border claiming they are victims of violence and need "asylum." Asylum claims gets illegals thousands of dollars in SS funds.
Mexican Federales are getting rich using some familiar strategies:
(1) plotting to become a ward of the US;
(2) faking victimization;
(3) secretly revving up internal conflicts;
(4) play-acting the ignoramus;
(5) claiming they can't "control" their enemies without US money;
(6) organizing voting blocs----exchanging votes for US cash.
They shouldn’t have opened their window. Call for help first, wait it out. They had bullet proof car,which I didn’t know until now.
Mexicon forbids our agents to carry a gun, that is really messed up, and our government officals go along with whatever the laws of Mexico are, while Mexico, provides maps and GPS’s to help their citizens illegally cross into our country.
So, so tired of the meme about how wonderful the Mexican people are. (Statement can be extended almost ad nauseum to other “discriminated-against” minorities).
They are SO nice compared to us that they should all be - for their own good, mind you - forced to stay down there amongst their own kind and enjoy the hard-working, family-values warmth of their own people. We’ll just have to do without.

Houston Medical Examiner Refuses Agent’s Autopsy (Feb 17, 2011)
MEXICO CITY — ICE agents say a medical examiner in Houston refused to conduct the autopsy on a border patrol agent who died in an ambush in Mexico.
Agent Jaime Zapata and another ICE agent were shot near Mexico City.
CBS News has learned that agents Jaime Zapata and Victor Avila were driving on a toll road between Mexico City and Monterrey when two SUV’s sandwiched the agents’ vehicle. As many as ten gunmen got out of their vehicles and opened fire, killing Zapata.
Sources say their vehicle was targeted by drug cartel hit men, but it’s unclear if the shooters knew who was inside.
Zapata’s body was flown to Houston for an autopsy, but the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office refused to accept the body.
They reportedly did not want to do a second autopsy since one had already been performed in Mexico.
ICE officials then began looking for a plane to take the body to Dover Air Force base to the Department of Defense’s Mortuary.
After a few hours, the medical examiner relented. ICE officials refused to return.
Injured agent, Victor Avila, was discharged from a U.S. hospital Wednesday and is now home recovering from being shot twice in the leg.
The FBI is now leading a task force to find out who is responsible.
We start using them on Mexico tomorrow.
