During the interview with Stephanopoulos, Bachmann was asked whether she believed Obama is a Christian and a citizen of the United States.
Bachmann: Well that isn't for me to state, that is for the president to state. And I think that the president makes--
Stephanopoulos: Do you believe it?
Bachmann: When the president makes his statements I think they need to stand for their own.
Stephanopoulos: But he has said it very clearly, I'm just asking if you believe it.
Bachmann: Well I think we should take the president at his word.

I am of two minds on this issue. I don’t believe Obama is a citizen, but I almost think proving it will be worse because it will set the precedent of non-citizens being able to hold the presidency (because, ya know, Obama did it!) and then where are we. Farther down the rabbit hole, IMO.
Can someone please tell me why no one has the courage to talk about this??? What are they afraid of?

It’s crazy. There is a legitimate issue here, as there is little to no documentation on anything this guy did in his first 28 years. I don’t blame elected people from trying to stay out of the discussion, but there are so many things that could be said to appropriately ask questions without looking like a conspiracy loon.

I watched it & George was doing his best to get Michelle to declare that she didn’t believe in Barry’s eligibility to hold the office of President.
Too bad that George didn’t ask that question of Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi & all the Secretarys of States in the USA BEFORE he got the nomination & got elected.
George is a day late & a dollar short.
I firmly believe that the real truth will come out. Don’t know when- but it never will be soon enough.
I really want to see Georgie, perky Katie, Diane Sawyer & all the others who have helped in this conspiracy eat crow.

It's like the UFO issue. There's ridicule and attack on one side of the issue and anecdotal accounts, personal opinions, and a lack of evidence on the other.
Obama knew full-well that if the evidence were hidden or nonexistent, the truth would be hard, if not impossible, to get at (it is hard to prove a negative).

Boehner and Issa have the power to resolve these doubts and they owe it to us to use that power.
The correct answer for all Republicans- when the media asks them to give an alibi for Obama regarding his birth certificate or religion or sexuality-
is to tell them to ask Barry himself.
Which of course they won’t-because they would rather make Republicans answer for Barry.

I would love for some Republican to say-” How would I know,
why don’t you ask the president himself during the next press conference.”

However, she might have added:
“Although, I am willing to take the President at his word FOR NOW, I enthusiastically support the enforcement of emerging state requirements for Constitutional proof of eligibility in the upcoming elections.”

Every Republican should also go to all interviews with leftist media, prepared to counter the birther question effectively and intelligently.
