My main concern is the effect his words alone will have on prices and availability on everything from guns and magazines to ammo.

Maybe he would follow the Swiss model and have the citizens get more range time and keep gov't issued automatic weapons at home.

Well he doesn’t need Congress to ultimately do great harm. He can do enough damage thru EO and regulatory legal opinions to be enforced by the ATF, IRS, DEA, ICE, FBI, DHS, et al...
They would come not in the form of regulations targeted directly at us, but targeted at federally licensed dealers. They could include moves to create license ammo dealers, gun parts dealers, and to further complicate and bury FFL’s under such draconian regulatory requirements that make it no longer financially beneficial to operate an FFL.
I could see magazines reclassified as “firearms components” and subject to ATF licensing regulations.
Imagine these regulations so complicated, so heavy handed, far reaching and so detailed that every single gun dealer needed a full-time lawyer and accountant on staff just to sell a gun a gun part or a box of ammo.
You think this is not possible?
Stroke of the pen, law of the land my friends...
And courts are very reluctant to touch regulatory actions.
Obama doesn’t need Congress.
