White children are set to become a 'minority group' in Birmingham, a census is expected to show.
A study by the University of Manchester has predicted that more than half of children in Birmingham will be from black and Asian communities when the census is carried out at the end of March.
In 2006, 53 per cent of children under 16 were from white families and this figure is expected to drop substantially to 47 per cent when the census is carried out in two months' time.
(edit)
The study suggests one reason for the reduction of white families is movement out of Birmingham to other areas of the West Midlands and the UK.
Another reason is the continued immigration of people from Pakistan, African countries and China.
Ten years ago, the 2001 census showed that 70.4 per cent of the Birmingham population was white and 29.6 per cent were a mixture of various ethnic backgrounds, with British Asians and African-Caribbean dominating.

The council's education department has warned that language difficulties among non-English speaking pupils is contributing to poor performances by some schools.
Last year Asian children were reported to outnumber white pupils in Birmingham primary schools for the first time, according to city authorities.

Common parlance suggests the term "Asian" in the UK is frequently used when describing Pakistani immigrants, but there's also this from Wikipedia which may be of interest. Being Wikipedia, it's not offered as a definitive source but merely something to consider as a possibility.

Additionally, Britons who mark the "Other Asian" category on the UK census are usually of Iranian, Afghan, Iraqi, Yemeni ancestries.[5] However, these groups may not fit neatly into a Census category, which is possibly due to people understanding ethnicity differently.[6] Although there are exceptions,[7] the term generally excludes people of East Asian (such as Chinese, Korean or Japanese) or Southeast Asian origin; they are more likely to be defined by their country of origin, or may instead be grouped under the umbrella term "oriental". This is reflected in the "ethnic group" section of UK census forms and other government paperwork, which treat "Asian" and "Chinese" as separate. This usage contrasts with American English, Canadian English and Australian English, in which "Asian" refers mainly to people with East Asian ancestry.
The terms "Asian" or "British Asian" are contested. According to Qasim Mohammad, Britain's Hindu community considers the term somewhat vague given the religious and national origin difference between Indians, Pakistanis and Bangladeshis.[citation needed] Some members of Britain's Hindu community are debating whether to adopt a specific label based on nationality (e.g. "British Indian") or religion (e.g. "British Hindu"). Others see a certain degree of unity in the South Asian diaspora; the term desi is also sometimes used to name a South Asian person, pointing to a common identity, but is more often a word used within the Asian community.

Coming to your town soon, welcome to Great Britain.

now that whites are a minority maybe they will start teaching about british culture in the schools and make people of other ethnicity change the name of there religious festivals so as not to offend!

That's nice isn't it... how long before they want independence? - Rowan-Jelena, Belgrade, Serbia, Rowan-Jelena, Belgrade, Serbia - a very, very good point which I bet many people haven't even thought about. When/if that ever happened then the UK would self destruct just like the old Yugoslavia did 20 years ago. This country is sleepwalking into unknown territory and I for one am worried.

I bet Labour are brimming with pride at this news.

It is OK for the elderly with not long left in this country but what a worry for the grandchildren of today who will have to face serious problems as they approach adulthood. We neither asked for, or deserved, this sorry state of affairs bequeathed to us mainly by Labour.

I don’t think Jeff Lynne thinks the same of his old home town now:
Birmingham Blues - ELO
Working on the road across this great big world
I’ve been rolling like a stone, I never get back home
Yes, I’ve been long-gone
And boy, I’ve got the Birmingham Blues.
Been across the ocean to the south sea isles
Yeah, I travelled to the east and west for mile and miles and miles
And I’ve been long-gone
And boy, I’ve got the Birmingham Blues.
CHORUS:
Across the world I’ve seen
People and places
Could be the same
But with a different name.
I wouldn’t change the things I do for anything
But I’d just like to hear the message of the streets again
Give me a ticket
Cause boy, I’ve got the Birmingham Blues.
It may be kind of homely but it sure is sweet
Industrial Revolution put it on its feet
But it’s a long, long way
Boy, I’ve got the Birmingham Blues.
REPEAT CHORUS
I’ll go and stay awhile and all the folks I meet
They’ll say “You won’t stay long, you got them travelling feet
You’ll soon be long-gone
‘Cos boy, you got the rest of the world blues!”
By 2023 half of the children 18 and under in the US will be minorities as defined by the USG.
self-hate...such a sad thing.
But ... but ... but ... isn’t it great that England’s indigenous children will be a minority and consequently lose their country? England will be an economic colony to many regions of the world. Boy diversity is so grand. Gee, why doesn’t China and Japan get busy importing foreigners so they can taste the delicious fruits of diversity? (Because they’re not naive and stupid, that’s why.)
I am interested and no it does not surprise me at all that a place like Birmingham have had this.
You could walk down parts of England today and take photo’s.
Come to America and show those photo’s but say that you was on a trip to Pakistan and you know what.
Everyone would believe you
“asian” is an overly broad category, chosen so as to include a huge portion of the world, and to merge together in one category many different and incompatible cultures, for greater political clout.
The Japanese and the Yemenis have NOTHING in common.
Leftists, and their ideological “father”, like to blur definitions to keep the truth hidden.
Um, don't they get to vote for their politicians over there?
Well at least Ozzy and Duran Duran escaped that hell hole. Maybe they can organize a save Birmingham concert.
So if they already have the answer, why waste the money on a census?
Birmingham in England is one thing and Birmingham, Alabama is an interesting case too. The Alabama city is a majority Black town but the surrounding municipalities are largely White. Of course if one asks one from Hoover or Homewood where they are from they will say Birmingham when out-of-state so we might know where they are talking about.
Worth pointing out that since the 1950s the non-white population of Birmingham has been predominantly Afro-Caribbean, not Asian (by whatever definition).
There's been a comprehensive census of the entire British population every tenth year from 1801.
the Christian, Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist and Jain South Asians HATE it to be clubbed with the Mozzie Pakis.
you mean places like East Tooting and Birmingham
Well you’ve got to understand, everyone’s entitled to have a country except the indigenous Europeans.
