Contending that the purported "seasoned beef" or "seasoned ground beef" in a number of Taco Bell menu items isn't as meaty as it sounds, consumer law firms have filed a federal suit in California this week asking for a court determination on the issue.

Another article claims Taco Bell’s “taco filling” is only 36% beef.
Yum! Brands.
Owner of Taco Bell.
Now you know where the Taco Bell Chihuahua dog wemt
Now you know where the Taco Bell Chihuahua went
IDIOTS, all!
Now I’m kind of worried about what’s in a Mexi-melt.
Yeah ok. Are they expecting Taco Bell to increase the beef in their “beef” to 100%, at the same weight and the same price? 100-to-1 says that the best outcome is that they continue to say “seasoned beef!” on the menu or the ad, but add add a microscopic asterisk that somewhere, also microscopically, legally informs you that it “may be less than 100% beef”, a la McDonald’s half-second “pre-cooked weight is 1/4 lb” small print for their Quarter-Pounder.
Once again, the greedy shysters want the courts instead of the free market to make our decisions for us. Isn’t that special. What would the pinheads living on this continent do without the gubmint telling them how to live their lives?
I love Taco Bell.
$2.67 and I get a Chicken burrito and Soft Taco and its always fresh as could be.

They mix pork in with the beef.
It’s soylent green.
??
If you don’t like it don’t eat there.
These lawsuits are stupid and only enrich lawyers.
If they want to be shocked, they should look at the recipes for authentic mexican staples. Start with Chorizo. Knuckles, intestines and jowels are listed as ingredients on some of the supermarket brands.

Nuts.
Oh don’t get me wrong, I refuel (there’s dining, then there’s eating, then there’s refueling) there from time to time and don’t complain at all. Plus it’s the only fast food joint I can think of that has Mountain Dew. I’m with the other post that says this is just legal shenanigans that will have no real effect for the consumer.
I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a significant amount of filler/extender in the taco meat mixture at Taco Bell. Order/purchase prepared taco filling from most any restaurant supply house or wholesale store and you’ll likely get the same basic thing. I would imagine its a major factor in keeping the costs of their basic taco low.
That said, I pretty much only do The Bell late at night (when nothing else is open). I’d rather hit one of the authentic taco stands in my area to get my taco (and molettes, and horchata and so on) fix.
