It would be smart business for COMCAST to not allow MSNBC to continue to pursue a political ideology that alienates well over half of their potential viewing audience.

...including a right turn for the left-wing cable channel so that it represents both political points of view more evenly.

Sounds like somebody has been looking at FOX's ratings numbers. We'll see I guess.

They should offer Rush Limbaugh the 9:00 pm slot and see how the network takes off.

The authors of this article are IDIOTS.

Replacing Olberdorque with Lawrence O’Donnell is not a move to the right.

O’Donnell is every bit as mean spirited an ideologue as Olberdorque but with a slightly prettier face and ounce more of charm and tact.

...an NBCU source told Deadline about Comcast's attitude to Olbermann.

There's an NBC University?

There’s no reason to believe Comcast is going “right” when they are run by the Left. I know people would like to believe capitalism would trump partisanship but I’ll believe it when I see it.

I suppose it’s possible they could make asthetic changes though. Such as demanding their employees act like adults?

....the new owners have many changes in store, including a right turn for the left-wing cable channel...

Hmmmm....I'll give them a shot. But if I don't see any significant changes, I'm switching to satellite.

Does anyone REALLY believe that ComCast management isn't liberal? If it was, we would have known about it long ago.

The best we can hope for is that they are "fair and balanced", hah.

I'm not holding my breath.

If they are, then Ed ‘yhate Pig’ Shultz the Union Mobster Mouth and Psycho Arsonist, will be getting the Bums ush soon as well.

OlberButtmunch just signed a 4 yr contact two years ago, and I expect he’ll get that salary, conditionally, on his keeping his mouth shut for the next two years..Which includes the 2012 election cycle...Now howaBoutDat? >Bo)

word has been circulating for months now that the new owners have wanted to "tinker" with MSNBC.

Tinker with? Some nights, a test pattern would draw higher ratings.

Ideology trumps the bottom line for libs.

Comcast will do what polling and ratings show to be the most profitable way to make money. The answer is already known that leftist TV doesn’t make money. News and talk are saturated.
My guess is Comcast puts its money on a second sports channel and then uses its cable muscle to put Comcast Sports in advantageous positions (200, 201, 202, etc.) on the dial and puts the ESPN channels in bad positions, ESPN 829, ESPN2 297, ESPNNews 936, etc. Disney and ABC channels will also get bad channel positions. Comcast will low-ball the ABC, Disney and ESPN channels on price negotiations.
Olbermann will find a 15-minute commentary show about conspiracies on Seattle public-access and put together a network of public-access channels, starting with Provincetown, the Castro, West Hollywood, Austin and South Beach. But it will fold.

WOW!

Do you suppose that the result of the Arizona fiasco actually made some of them start looking into who and what really is inflammatory, and came to the conclusion that the Left is vastly more violent, incendiary, dishonest and biased?

Or, have they suddenly figured out why they have such a small audience compared to FOX?
