Cameras rolled as suspect Jared Loughner allegedly fired all 31 bullets in the clip of his Glock, plus another round that was already in the chamber, at a supermarket in Tucson, Ariz., on Jan. 8.
At the outset of the melee, unidentified sources who have seen the video tell the Washington Post, Loughner walked straight up to congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and shot her above the left eye from about two or three feet away.
Within moments, Loughner also allegedly shot Chief Arizona U.S. District Judge John Roll, who had tried to take cover under a table. As Roll did so, initial reports in the Post indicated he sought to protect the congresswoman's aide, Ron Barber, pushing Barber to the ground and getting on top of him, the newspaper reports. A later version of the article backs off that claim and notes that both Roll and Barber sought cover in the same area.
Barber has now been released from the hospital, KVOA reported last week. And Giffords is doing remarkably well, under the circumstances, reportedly recognizing her husband and friends and responding to them.
Roll died at the scene. An autopsy shows that the shot "took out his aorta," a source tells the Post

Roll is a hero, he died protecting others and the commie media won’t report this because it doesn’t fit their damn agenda..the moment this shooting happened and they heard it was a Democrat Congresswoman they decided to do everything possible to use it to their advantage to bring down Sarah Palin and the entire Conservative movement. I absolutely DESPISE the left and everything they stand for. The media doesn’t even mention Roll, like he never existed..because #1 he was a Republican judge so his life doesn’t fit into their agenda
Does the video show James Eric Fuller fleeing with out rendering aid or giving a statement to police?

Not to be too pedantic about it, but this is indicative of the sloppiness that passes for journalism lately.
Glock firearms are not "clip fed" weapons. Glocks, and other semi-automatic pistols typically employ magazines not "clips." One of the last common weapons to use a clip was the M1 Garand.
I realize this is a very minor point in the context of the story. But it bothers me - if "journalists" can't be bothered to do research, get the details right, and use language precisely...why should we trust their take on other details and facets of the story?

Do you have any evidence that Roll was protecting someone else? Perhaps that was just one of the erroneous rumors that floated early on, as they always do until the dust settles after such a calamity.
The video will likely show what really happened.
There is no shame whatsoever in ducking for cover when a crazed gunman is firing, so if that’s what Judge Roll did, there is nothing to get upset about.
Perhaps the videos will tell what really happened.
Judge Roll was a fine man, and he died honorably.
I know hunters who erroneously use “clip” and “magazine” interchangeably. They are wrong, and they correct each other, and they love their guns.
It’s a common error that most folks wouldn’t catch. Good for you, but don’t get upset about it.
That's why they fought so hard to distract our attention to others!
We'll never see the videos. We'll have them described for us by the political operatives at MSNBC and The Washington Post.

Even if the “journalist” had called it a magazine rather than a clip I still would not trust them any further than I could pick them up and throw them.
I think we can drop the silly alleged when the smoking gun is in the perp’s hand on tape.

I hesitate to even express this thought, but it seems that a heroic action would have been for Roll to pick up the table and throw it at the SOB, then attack him. If that had been the crowd reaction, a lot more people would have lived. I know it’s natural to duck or run, but if a man is standing in front of you shooting people, your life is already at very high risk.
I’ve always thought that the old line about “give the criminal what he wants” has cost untold lives and brought about the mindset that allows these things to happen. I truly think that if we pounded into everyones head from childhood “attack and kill the criminal by any means possible” many lives would be saved and crime would almost disappear.
I know I’m talking big and I wasn’t there. But I swear if a man ever stands in front of me and starts shooting I’m not going to turn around and get shot in the back.
