Bloomberg: Let's talk gun control

Translation:

Lets talk about anything that will take the focus off the disaster my administration made of the snowstorm cleanup and my rock bottom approval rating.

Let’s talk Kathy Black who told a group of parents that birth control would be the solution to overcrowding in their schools. She went on to say that it’s like a bunch of Sophie’s Choices.

Bloomberg was also joined by Rep. Pete King (R-N.Y.), who plans to introduce legislation that would make it illegal to carry a weapon within 1,000 feet of high-level government officials.

Bloomberg and King should explain how that would have stopped the AZ shootings. They also need to explain how I should know to avoid these "high-level government officials" while carrying. Maybe we can issue them crowns to wear so we know who are members of this elite ruling class.

“Bloomberg was also joined by Rep. Pete King (R-N.Y.), who plans to introduce legislation that would make it illegal to carry a weapon within 1,000 feet of high-level government officials.”

Here I was thinking that the legislation was intended to encourage law-abiding lunatics to improve their rifle marksmanship.

Loughner wouldn’t have been able to purchase a gun if the dim-bulb, political hack masquerading as a sheriff had done his job. The grabbers like Bloomberg will ignore the incompetence of the sheriff while howling for more restrictions since the system didn’t protect us.

Jared Loughner is a poster child for democracy, as libs like Bloomie have defined it

An obviously disturbed individual is assiduously afforded every possible right and avoids any possible judgment, restriction of his movement and activities, legal requirement to obtain mental evaluation and treatment, nor any consequences or moral approbation for his actions

Until after he commits mayhem

Then libs like Bloomie blame “democracy”, as if it's some flaw of conservatism that common rubes just can't handle

Great

are high level govt officials gonna wear special t-shirts or something so the commoners know to stay 1000 feet away from them?

And of course this law will be honored by insane people who plan blood vendettas (sarc)

Interesting how govt negligence leads to more law that further infringes upon our Liberties.

I know I’ll get zapped for this but anyway... I once read a book by Dr. Erich Neuman (sp?) called “Depth Psychology and the New Ethic”. He was a student of Jung and put forth a theory that, succinctly, purports that there are no victims only volunteers. In this case of an attack on a member of Congress, his theory would state this. Politicians in general and members of Congress in particular in our present day society are not looked upon favorably (see the polls that show them in the teens). The collective subconscious (see Jung again) is therefore not holding any of these folks in the House or the Senate in any kind of esteem. They have put themselves in this position by the actions of a good many of their members (sex scandals, bribes, consorting with lobbyist, etc.) In this atmosphere of non-approval by the collective, it is very likely that some individuals who have severe mental problems will seek out targets of opportunity based on how the targets themselves have shown up on the horizon. This is not to say that the individual target in this case is in anyway responsible but that she happened to be a member of a class that have made themselves into magnets for nutcases. The nutcases pick these folks because they are on the skyline and, since everybody (the collective) holds the targets as flawed individuals, it seems ok to target them.

OK, go ahead and flame me. I’ve made myself a target 8}.
