GOP Strategist: Palin Prolonged the Polarization and Prolonged the Country's Misery

Andrea Michell is discussing Sarah Palin (what a surprise) with Democrat David Bonier and Republican strategist Vin Weber, here's the video of Weber.

-------

MITCHELL: "She had the choice of when to speak and the tone. and one has to wonder why doesn't she have a wider circling of advisers. i don't know any political strategist of a national campaign, republican or democrat who thinks that was a smart thing to do.

VIN WEBER: "Well, we really don't know who advises her. She's quite isolated from what you might think of as the Republican establishment. No one is quite sure who's advising her. I think she was way off key on what she said and the president was right on key. The country after a catastrophe like this wants a moment when you come together and heal a little bit, and they had been denied that because of all the debate about the polarizatio and the president rescued the moment, if you will, and brought the country together and for governor Palin to have responded the way she did at the time was kind of prolonging the polarization and prolonging the country's sort of misery as they waited for a moment of unity.

Absolutely!

Sarah strikes fear into the hearts of the Romneybots and the Huckabooboos.

What a bunch of cr*p!

I think I'm going to have to spend most of my FR days on the prayer thread. I just can't take what people of both parties are doing and saying just to try to keep Palin from running for president.

No, we have to confront all of these so-called Republicans when they attack her. we must let them know that without Sarah, they don’t have us, period. As long as we rant between ourselves we won’t accomplish anything. Burn up the e-mails and phones. LOUD AND CLEAR REPUBLICANS: NO SARAH, NO TEA PARTY SUPPORT OR VOTES.

Ugh! This was NOT a catastrophe. Meaning no disrespect to the victims, but this was a garden variety case of a schizophrenic going postal. 9/11/01 and anthrax attacks were a catastrophe, but the media and many politicians would never call it that.

Vin Weber is a moron. Or he thinks Sarah is more powerful a figure than anyone could possibly be.

The GOP needs to grow a pair, fire Vin Weeper, and quit reaching across the aisle.

The democRATS are COMMUNISTS, for cryin’ out loud. There is NO reason that anybody should want to get along with them.

Andrea Mitchell has really ratcheted up the intensity of her own Palin hunt. She wants Palin’s scalp in her trophy room. Pretty obvious.

“...rather have her LOSE then throw Obama out of office”

Of course.

Don’t see how ‘Bammy loses in 2012.

He has been the best thing for DC since the New Deal. More power has accrued to DC in 2 years of ‘Bammy...than in the previous 234 years put together. Consequently the RinoCrat Oligarchy will be behind him 100%.

He has ‘gifted” away more of our treasure to his henchmen and supporters than all other presidents in history put together. That represents a reservoir of “goodwill” that will find absolutely NO major players in US or International powers on the other side of him in 2012.

Unless there is an absolutely unprecedented grass roots, highly motivated groundswell in Flyover Country that generates hereto for unseen numbers of voters AND the institutional corruption of the vote that characterizes many Red States suffering Blue representation is dealt with ahead of time, he will be insurmountable.

Good. The last thing we need is more elitist country-club blue-blood halfwits who don’t understand squat.

Vin Weber was a high school classmate of my younger brother. He grew up in Slayton, MN and his dad owned the local weekly newspaper for years.

Vin was a congressman from that area and not someone I would call a liberal pub, but not exactly a conservative either.

But, you have to keep in mind these yahoos go to Washington, make big bucks selling out to whomever they have to, and suddenly you need a scorecard to tell dem/pubs apart because in the end, their only passion is money, elite cocktail parties and the slap on the back from the ruling elite.

She's quite isolated from what you might think of as the Republican establishment.

I'm not comparing her to Ronald Reagan but didn't they say the same thing about him? Hmmm?

Vin Weber was a key adviser to Newt Gingrich in the early 1990’s. In 2007, Weber became Policy Chairman for Romney for President Exploratory Committee. Wow, he gets himself a twofer by attacking Palin now.

I fail to see anything rational much less conservative in that statement. Someone mentioned his association with Madeleine Halfbright. That makes me wonder where he stood on the bombing of Serbian Christians in defense of KLA Muslim narco/slave/arms trafficking terrorists.
