WASHINGTON The National Labor Relations Board on Friday threatened to sue Arizona, South Carolina, South Dakota and Utah over constitutional amendments guaranteeing workers the right to a secret ballot in union elections.
The agency's acting general counsel, Lafe Solomon, said the amendments conflict with federal law, which gives employers the option of recognizing a union if a majority of workers sign cards that support unionizing.
The amendments, approved Nov. 2, have taken effect in South Dakota and Utah, and will do so soon in Arizona and South Carolina.
Business and anti-union groups sought the amendments, arguing that such secrecy is necessary to protect workers against union intimidation. They are concerned that Congress might enact legislation requiring employers to allow the "card check" process for forming unions instead of secret ballot elections.

The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Our own government has become our enemy and is taking us to court at a time when we need help.
I guess the plan to unionize everyone is moving along, the biggest hitch now is that nobody has a job.
“Property is theft”
Wouldn’t want a secret ballot in the United States, now, would we.
(1)-What kind of name is “Lafe”? Is it short for Lafayette?
(2)-”...threatened to sue...” Don’t threaten, just go ahead and do it.
Once again the Federal Government wants to restrict YOUR rights as a citizen in favor of thei political donors...
The Federal Government is fast becoming a bigger enemy to America then the islamists.....
Time to sue the Feds for Constitutional abuse.
This is plainly an effort to stifle political dissent. The Supreme Court needs to put a stop to the Obama labor policies.
Some guy named Lafe Faggett left a flyer in my door a few weeks ago advertising his landscaping services. I doubt many responded.
Uh oh....The peasants are wising up....
The process of collective bargaining power should be voluntary and without intimidation. No Federal or State regulations should in any way interfere with the employees’ ability to privately distance itself from the collective.
While I support collective bargaining, I have no use for the pigheaded, communistic abuse against those employees that want no involvement with the union.
I’m trying to understand how the secret ballot violates anyone’s right to unionize.
thought the feds were supposed to be representatives of the people not the unions?
There is no constitutional authority for the NLRB anyhow.
