I decided to have my own little "FReepathon" in memory of my beloved furry family member Kitty. She died on Thursday, December 16, 2010, just after 9:30 am.
Some of you probably saw my thread when I self diagnosed her with CRF (I was vetless at the time). Turned out my little 19 year old Kitty had a urinary tract, as well as a kidney infection, which she apparently was too old and too tired to fight.
This is my proposal, in which I came up with because of you, my fellow FReepers. I asked for help and info. So many of you had great info (which I am now applying to my 2 others).....as well as your own sad stories regarding your beloved furry family members.
I will donate $5.00 for every FReeper, up to $200.00 (wish I could afford more), who posts a pic of their passed beloved furry family member, a little blurb about them, etc.
If you have more than one you would like to remember, post each one separate. Each post of a lost beloved is $5.00, up to $200. My post does not count towards the goal.
Here is my Kitty less than 4 months before she died (she had gigantic ears in which I used to fold back and tell her she is now a Scottish Fold and she would allow me to amuse myself for just about 1 minute)....
A personal thank you and big (((hug))) to my fellow FRiend Quix for helping me get through it. He prayed with me for Him to take her naturally, so I wouldn't have to do it.
He listened and He gave me another 13 hours with her, in which I needed. I am forever grateful.
I’m so sorry for your loss.
Sorry to hear. We love our animals, don’t we? I will post later and make an FR donation on hehalf of Kitty...
Hang in there.
I’d post a photo of our horrid dog but I don’t know how to post photos.
I am sure your Kitty had a life well lived. 19 is a long time for a cat.
Thank you. I still have such a hole in my heart. I want her back and I want her back now, which I know won’t happen.
I have her ashes here with me (she was always in my face when FReeping) so it just seemed natural to have her “in my face” during my “FReeperthon pity party”.
=(
Sad, but good ping.
Thank you for making me cry. Tears of joy for such a wonderful gesture. =)
She looks a lot like my old cat. I hope in time your heart will heal and that God will grace you with another loving cat like Kitty.
Time for a new kitten..
Then forget the pic.....just tell us about your furry family member you have lost and I will add you to the list for donation.
Sorry for your loss.
Another kitten? No way. I still have 2 others and God seems to have me pegged to take in the “freaks of all freaks” of cats.
If He decides to send me another (which is how I got all 3), so be it. I WILL NOT go looking....never had to.
I’m sorry to hear about Kitty.
I think it’s healthy for you to do something positive in her name.
Thanks humble. Do you have an ff you’d like to remember?
I don’t know how to post a picture, but I feel your pain.
We lost our Tom Tom Kitty Kitty, my own little guy in April of last year. We had no idea he was sick but after a few days of odd behavior I took him to the vet only to be told that he was dying. They put him to sleep right away as he was in pain.
I cannot describe the horror at that happening I felt and still feel. Our sadness was crushing and still I well up with tears when I think of him.
We always called him “that damn cat” as he seemed to always want in or out or to play at the worst possible times. He loved to torment the dogs and definitely ruled the roost.
Now when I think of him it’s “that damn cat just up and died and broke my heart.”
If he was sitting in the path the dogs wanted to go, they would not pass him even though he weighed 9 pounds and they weigh about 70 pounds each.
We loved that little guy, he could be as sweet as honey and as mean as the dickens, but he was ours, I fed him from a bottle when we brought him home at just 4 weeks old.
I’m sorry for your loss, but it’s the heartbreak of loss is what we risk by loving our pets. :)
This was my Timber who passed on in 2007. He was proof that angels exist; they simply don't appear as we might expect them to...
He was big and wild and being "fixed" didn't change him.
I’m so sorry about your loss. Your ability not to be able to post a pic doesn’t matter. You are my 1st $5 donation.
God Bless.
I’m very sorry for your loss. I’ve been there too and it’s so painful. Time is the great healer. I don’t know if you are considering it, but perhaps get another cat or a dog soon. I have always found the absence of their presence made it much harder.
What a beauty!! You are #2 on the donation list. We had a Shepard growing up and he was as regal looking as yours.
Now you got me missing him too.
