Macon city councilman Erick Erickson says he plans to vacate his council seat within the next six months. He says he's leaving council to start a new full time job: hosting a daily radio talk show on Atlanta's WSB.

"It at some point will become impactful to my time on council," says Erickson.

His show will air Monday through Friday from 9 pm. to 12 a.m. beginning this Tuesday. He says he's been working on the deal for several months but just signed the contract last week.

I wish people would stop inventing new words.

“Become Impactful” is a stupid way to say “will have an impact on”

Impactful is not a word

Boortz ain’t leaving his flagship station.

Neal is on 9 AM to 1 PM; 8:30 AM start sometimes. But anyways, he has the AM slot and OWNS it in Atlanta.

The slot in your story is 9 PM - midnight.

Good riddance.

Boortz refused to discuss Obamas eligibility.

Raise holy hell if a caller mentions it.

The media down here employs nominally literate people. It is really bad. It is funny (sad) when a news reader at the top of the hour reads his copy word for word, errors and all, he will then read it again exactly the same way at the bottom of the hour. p>

Erickson is a jerk, completely banning us “birthers” from his supposedly conservative redstate.com site.

It seems like FR really is the last bastion of true conservatism on the internets.

No, Neal isn’t going anywhere. I enjoy listening to him.

Michael Weiner is on from 10-1 on WSB. I hope we aren’t getting a councilman to replace Savage.

Boortz always comes across nasty and arrogant - especially to pro-life conservatives who he always demagogues.

Just too abrasive to my ears and add his love affair with the leftwing liberal reporter (Jamie), no thanks!

I used to like Neal, now his bitter and hateful tone (that is increasing daily) just makes my stomach hurt.

Negative tone isn’t a bunch of hooey. You hear it long enough, you become bitter and hateful yourself.

You summarized my reason for turning him off. I can only really tolerate him when he is trying to advance the Fair Tax.

I know, it's like having a liberal guest at a dinner party.

Inventing words is the very essence of english. Its why it is the only growing language and is going to be the only language of consequence in 50 years. We don’t have an ‘academy’ that issues language fatwas,,, thank God.

So true,, it’s subtle, but very real. A bitter friend or aquaintance can do the same thing. Not that we need to flee it,, but we should try to always be conscious of being around people like that. Same for music. Once I was somewhere where could only get a radio station playing music from the 1940s. After a few hours, I noticed I was in a great mood. Little things matter.

Could I trouble you to remove “(replacing Boortz)” from the title? I was 12 hours out of phase.

Thank you

On another subject: I drove through Atlanta over the holiday and was trying to find Martha Zoeller. I couldn’t remember her station, but I used to love her when I was there for business. She had started doing cameos on Fox TV and other things which led me to believe that she was on the rise. is she still around??

It might not be Boortz that he’s replacing. There’s a black conservative talkshow host Herman Caine who’s announced he wil be running for president who’s on before or follows Boortz at WSB and also subs for Boortz.

Boortz is re-broadcast on WSB am750 Atlanta (50,000 watts)
midnights, which booms here in central Wisconsin. Boortz is also heard 3hrs 2-5pm on WSPT am 1020,(Stevens Point WI)opposing Hannity locally. And I try to pick Boortz up at that time when I get tired of Hannity shenanigans. The problem is WSPT has a weak am (1000 watt daytime) signal. .

Hannity is heard at the same time 2-5pm on nearby Wausau Wisconsin’s am550/fm 99.9 WSAU 10,000 watt daytime powerhouse.
