I don’t know. And it’s possible that things filtered thru the media (which does a terrible job in general with medical and science news) is also done poorly. I’m not defending the govt, I’m just saying that often in quickly evolving stories the news is poorly reported, in addition.
I’m keeping an open and skeptical mind.
AND I get really tired of the people who always pop up on these threads telling everyone to stop speculating. How else will the truth ever get out without people tossing out ideas? Will most ideas be wrong? Sure. Might some be right? Yes, maybe. If they don’t like these threads, why oh why do they click on them?

Diversion and deception. Something you would use before an attack.
This is an easy one. Most dead fish in fresh water sink. After several days of decomposition they float to the surface. Hence the stench when they’re first spotted, i.e. they’re already in advanced decomposition. All these places had below freezing temperatures last week. And now the dead fish have floated to the surface.
Don’t know about the birds though.
