It Sure Seems Like We're Done
American Thinker ^ | 1/1/11 | Jack Curtis

Posted on 01/01/2011 3:39:49 PM PST by FromLori

For those legislating and regulating industry out of the country and reducing our living standard back to maybe 1800 to call themselves Progressives requires a sense of humor, but in a way, they're right. Closing Post-Classical civilization to move into a new era can be called progress, at least by some. Most in the newborn Western Christian era during its early Dark Ages might not have seen it as progress but we at the intended end of its flowering of wealth and technology certainly think of it that way.

History leaves no doubt that civilizations rise and fall; the fall always beginning when rising ends. The Classical era passed in under a millennium and a half; ours has already gone longer but Reagan's Morning in America has become Obama's Closing Time. Deindustrializing America is an endgame and if the Obamacrats are saving the planet, it's not for underemployed Americans.

Speaking of Dark Ages.....please note that the Pope has given a very strong warning regarding a new Dark Age for Western civilization in his Christmas message. This is unprecedented. Thus, it deserves serious consideration.

If enough people believe that we are done, it will come true. That’s exactly what the liberals want, but what they don’t have the brains to figure out is that they will be done also. I am of the mind that we are not done. Yes, we are hurting, but we can turn this around if we want to. I’m not willing to give up just yet. This is my country also and I will stand and fight for it.

Not that I’m one for hanging on to every word the Pope says, the fact that he is saying these things now is downright hair-raising.

You are so correct....but remember, we know that, when we put our trust in the Savior, we are TRULY set free...and the Pope has been equally illustrious on that point as well!!!

I will also add that prayer groups made up of committed and very holy people are confirming what the Pope has stated in that message.

Be prepared....spiritually and physically.

They are trying to bring about a post industrial world. It is impossible to do any more than it is possible for us to return to the stone age. The ruling oligarchy which uses progressivism and liberalism to relegate the rest of us into serfdom always make exemptions for themselves. In the end they forget that the guillotine was not invented for peasants.

Nice to see Christianity and capitalism in the same sentence. See our site: www.faithfacts.org. For an article on The Bible and Government see the Christianity and Culture section. For an article on Biblical Capitalism see the blog section.

Very well done Jack Curtis. (and thanks for the post FromLori)

Rarely do I read an entire article without finding some point of disagreement. This is one of those rare times.

I would suggest a single improvement in asking folks who are not familiar with hyperinflation to google “Yugoslavia 1993 - 1994” to see a more recent account of a collapsed currency and the mostly unreported cause of the fall of Yugoslavia into the hell hole that it is today.

No matter how ugly things get, when it looks like the lefties are gonna win remember this, there is always going to be one more card to play, it trumps everything and wipes the slate clean - secession.

There are a lot of us who have thought this whole ideological/cultural struggle we find ourselves in and see no other outcome. Most true Southerners have never forgotten what our ancestors demonstrated for us and what our ultimate recourse will probably have to be. A day of choosing will come.

Secession belongs to a different class of remedies. It is to be justified upon the basis that the states are sovereign. There was a time when none denied it. I hope the time may come again when a better comprehension of the theory of our Government, and the inalienable rights of the people of the States, will prevent any one from denying that each State is a sovereign, and thus may reclaim the grants which it has made to any agent whomsoever.

Wow. interesting times when the Pope says something about moral absolutes that a large number of protestant populations are trying to ignore. Mainstream protestantism has largely become, according the the book Almost Christian, "The Church of Benign Whatever-ism". I'm not saying I'm going to jump the Tiber and become catholic, but it really is a sign of the times when Rome, once the hotbed of scandal, deceit, and corruption, is pointing out the spiritual corruption in the world around it. Sometimes I wonder what the German reformers would say if they saw the present climate of the world. "Tearing their garments" comes to mind. An interesting lesson in how God preserves His church from age to age, regardless of scandal and corruption.
