With IPv6, you don't even need to worry about IP addresses. And yes. Internet(x) is easy to set up.

You should understand. The concept is easy. Implementing it is non-trivial. ;)

The internet is an agreement that over any wire/fiber-optic cable/smoke signal that you and I both own, lease, rent, or have rights to traverse, we will communicate in a certain way. When I send data to you, that 'packet' of data basically says where it is from, where it is going, how long it is, and if it's part of a sequence, which one it is in the sequence. Followed by the data.

And that's it. That's the internet.

Everything else is refinements on the computer side (generally speaking). Doesn't matter if the data is video of the grandkids, your blood-sugar levels, or Angela Jolie doing the bump'ngrind.

The internet can't be controlled by ICANN anymore than morse code can be controlled by the ITU. If you know morse code. You own it.

Thanks. Understand that I’d prefer to have a TV with an on-off knob and a volume knob and that’s it.

All sounds good but these new guys are bigoted fanatics who hate your guts and want to turn you into a rug crawler any chance they can get.

They'll be suing us in our own courts using our own lawyers no less to make us do what they want us to do.

They'll fill the docket with URLs.

I won't comply. They can KMA. And if they push it too far, I have semi-precious metals (lead, copper, brass) to respond with.

Lawyers bleed like everybody else.

>>Decades of voter apathy are taking their toll.

It's cultural apathy in general.

The religion and morality spoken of by George Washington were an INDIVIDUAL American responsibility.  They can not exist except in the heart of the individual, for whom Almighty God hath created the Mind Free.

They do not exist when the majority of citizens abdicate that responsibility to a proxy of religious wolves in sheep's-plumage, who parrot what to believe and say from the pulpit every Sun-day - or from the idiot box every other day of the week.

Americans have just plain gotten lazy.  How many can even find Rome on the map - let alone articulate the ideological difference (and growing similarities) between the Soviet Union and the United States?

If the bread and circus supply wasn't nailed to the Keynesian perch, the post-modern American Parrot would be pushing up daisies.

Ok, now I get where you’re coming from.

btw, I think your list is missing something. I didn’t see on your list when obama said he campaigned in all 57 states.

Seems to me whoever controls the search engines controls the internet. How do you find what you want on the internet if there’s no search engine available that will let you see it?

Well I won’t stand for it, do you hear? I’ll create my own internet. Make a virtual internet using my virtual computer, and they’ll never even know it’s there! MWAHAHAHAHA!

I have a radical idea, why don’t they create a country of the Internet?

Then those that use it can be its citizens and determine its path?

No, instead they are forming a elite group to run things. This is a disaster waiting to happen.
