Washington (CNN) -- The House of Representatives voted Wednesday to overturn the ban on openly gay and lesbian soldiers serving in the U.S. military, passing legislation repealing the controversial "don't ask, don't tell" policy.
The bill -- a so-called "stand alone" measure not tied to any other legislative items -- passed 250 to 175 on mostly partisan lines. It now advances to the Senate.

I am surprised that they did not add this as an amendment to the other bill. Next up-— the omnibus with cap and tax and a $400 billion stimulus package added.
LOL it is “gay” that the Congress gets to dictate on this very matter. I think it should be up to the military on how they want to maintain a lean and mean fighting force.

What pisses me off the most is that Congress and DOD thinks it’s ok for gays to sleep and shower with straights. When in reality, they know it would cost billions to seperate.
One thing about DADT repeal that I have not seen discussed is the fact that much of the military is black and hispanic now, and for the most part they do not like gays. If gays think that all is going to be well now in the military and they can be open about their sexuality they need to think again. Anti gay attacks by minorities will not be looked upon by the media and by the law in the same manner as anti gay attacks by whites. This is going to get real ugly real fast.

They don’t trust the military, this is a way to get their foot in the door. It worked in our schools and the msm, now it will work in the military.
There is not patriot in DC, otherwise they would be screaming from the roof tops at what this lame duck congress is doing. I’m almost hoping for a civil war. I would rather not be part of the destruction of this country, but I think that ship has sailed.
So in this case the motto would be Ask Butt Don’t Tell.

In the place of law and order, you have judicial criminality and opinion making done by the leftwing press and the public education system.
Those who applaud in so many of these cases (in the name of greater liberty of course, while ignoring that this type of lawbreaking leads to loss of liberty) have no business every again claiming that they agree with the Constitution.
So it could be a self correcting problem down the line?
