Senate Democrats have filed a $1.1 trillion omnibus spending bill that would fund the government through fiscal year 2011, according to Senate GOP sources. The 1,924-page bill includes funding to implement the sweeping healthcare reform bill Congress passed earlier this year as well as additional funds for Internal Revenue Service agents, according to a senior GOP aide familiar with the legislation. The Smarmy One, Sen Bill Nelson (D-FL) has marched in lockstep with the Dear Leader and Reid and may appreciate the opportunity to move rightward.

Doesn’t the Constitution say “all money bills” must originate in the House?
With just a little spending on the deathcare, this should be a no vote. These azzclowns are all part of the same party. In days of old, these people would be swinging from the town squares!
I thought spending bills had to originate in the House.
The GOP better not cave on anything in the Lame Freakin’ Duck Congress.
This is certainly the most treacherous, dangerous lame duck session in history.
These people have lost all reference to truth.
On spending bills that they intend to fund (tax) must originate in the house.
That may sound crazy. In a real world it would be.
But since the Senate has not proposed a single idea on how to fund this spending, it might just pass Constitutional relevance.

Where is all the talk about the debt now???
This includes (from WSJ):
- $1 billion for Amtrak, the federal railroad that hasn’t turned a profit in 40 years;
- $2 billion for child-care subsidies;
- $50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts;
- $400 million for global-warming research;
- $2.4 billion for carbon-capture demonstration projects;
- $650 million to pay for digital TV conversion coupons (on top of the billions already paid out);
- $30 billion for fixing bridges or other highway projects;
- $40 billion for broadband and electric grid development, airports and clean water projects (hmm, those mught actually be worthwhile)
- $20 billion for business tax cuts;
- $8 billion for renewable energy funding;
- $6 billion for mass transit (these last two have a low or negative return on investment);
- $600 million MORE ($3.6 billion total) for the federal government to buy new cars;
- $7 billion for modernizing federal buildings and facilities;
- $252 billion for income-transfer payments (that is, cash or benefits to individuals for doing nothing at all);
- $81 billion for Medicaid;
- $36 billion for expanded unemployment benefits;
- $20 billion for food stamps;
- $83 billion for the earned income credit (for people who don’t pay income tax);
- $66 billion MORE for education (none of this for financial assistance to students).
Only about 12 cents of every $1 is for something that could plausibly be considered a stimulus, and many of those projects won’t help the economy immediately.

There is no guilt or shame in these cretins. They don’t care what anybody thinks anymore.
Only the presence of a little measure of good conscience is what divides us from civil society or anarchy.
It is not that they don’t think anybody knows what they do it is that the simply DON’T CARE who knows it or what they think.
Agreed. The incoming Republican freshmen should throw down the gauntlet and tell the existing GOP caucus to buck up or risk challenges for every leadership position. If McConnell and Boehner can’t get their troops to oppose this madness using every available procedure, then they both need to be replaced. Conservatives are not going to put up with another round of RINO weakness and complicity with those trying to destroy America from within.

Thune has called for a short-term funding measure free of earmarks to keep the government operating beyond Dec. 18, when the current continuing resolution expires.
Despite strong opposition from Thune and Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.), several Senate Republicans are considering voting for the bill.“That’s my intention,” said retiring Sen. Bob Bennett (R-Utah) when asked if he would support the package.
Bennett said earmarks in the bill might give some of his GOP colleagues reason to hesitate but wouldn’t affect his vote.
“It will be tough for some, but not for me,” he said.
GOP Sens. Kit Bond (Mo.), George Voinovich (Ohio) and Susan Collins (Maine) also told The Hill on Tuesday they would consider voting for the omnibus but want to review it before making a final decision.
“I hope to be able to vote for one,” Bond said of the omnibus. “We’ve got to look what’s in it.
“I’m anxious to see it,” he added.
