The WikiLeaks Cartel
IBD Editorials ^ | December 9, 2010 | Staff

Posted on 12/09/2010 5:28:17 PM PST by Kaslin

Cyberwar: If there was ever any doubt WikiLeaks is a criminal enterprise, it has vanished now that hackers have attacked MasterCard, Visa and Amazon.com. This is the work of organized crime, not spontaneous dissent.

For years, WikiLeaks has claimed that its release of stolen U.S. classified documents over the Internet fosters democracy, transparency and informed public discourse. For such public-spiritedness, it's been lionized by the Economist magazine and Amnesty International and showered with left-wing foundation money. Now the mask is off, and the reality is far uglier.

Embittered by MasterCard, Visa and Amazon.com's refusal to do any business with WikiLeaks because of its "violation of the terms of service," a loosely organized band of hackers acting on behalf of WikiLeaks has launched unprecedented attacks against these enterprises in a criminal attempt to shut them down.

That's right: In the name of promoting transparency, they hide behind the pixel curtain of anonymity and attack legitimate businesses that insist on operating transparently within the bounds of the law.

WikiLeaks traffics in stolen goods, so these companies can no more do business with them than they can trade with a mafia fence taking hijacked loads off Long Island big rigs. But to the hackers attacking them, there's no such thing as a willing buyer and seller. If these companies won't do business with WikiLeaks on their terms, no one's going to do business with them

IBD Editorial Staff thinks you are a moron.

That is their summation of this article.

The current DDoS attacks ARE NOT DIRECTED NOR DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE WIKILEAKS ORGANIZATION.

IBD is becoming more of a joke with every passing day of slipshod government propaganda lapdog yellow journalism.

The simplicity of their world was make everything transparent, and it was a nifty sale for the big guys like the New York Times. So now, we see this machine that can take on MasterCard, VISA and PayPal...and they act like the bad guys they oppose? And Cyber Command just sits there? I don’t get it.

NOt you personally Kaslin, sorry.

I mean the Royal you.

IBD is using straight up agitation through false premise to connect the /b/ tards to Wikileaks.

Wikileaks technical crew are real deal IT professionals who can write code, and mostly Europeans, and less than 200 people.

The little script kiddies in the DDoS attacks are a bunch of dumb pimply kids in parents basements, thousands and thousands, and almost exclusively United States citizens according to worldwide traffic monitors last night during the height of the DDoS.

The IBD Editors are just lapdogging the official government propaganda line here... not even pretending to give a F**k if their remaining readership can immediately see through the BS they are throwing up against the wall to see what will stick.

regards,

When we can see all of the WikiLeaks internal documents, along with all the personal information of all their principals posted on their site; I might start to believe their claims about how important they think transparency is.

Add in everything from the NY Times, alphabet networks, MoveOn.org, ACORN, the DNC, etc. and I might become a true believer.

Top it off with all of Obama's citizenship information, academic records, and personal correspondence; along with Soro's financial records, and private correspondence; and they'll have converted me. How long do you suppose I'll have to wait?

“They need to be rounded up like any criminal gang, cyber or otherwise.”

And after a fair trial, we can shoot them?

it isn’t even organized dissent. an underground movement urging people to “boycott mastercard” etc. “if you believe in freedom of information” might be small minded, but it wouldn’t be totalitarian.

Wikileaks can’t be ignorant of their script kiddie anarchist fanbase. Why didn’t Wikileaks sharply condemn these actions even if they were, in principle, in sympathy?

And after a fair trial, we can shoot them?

I see you are falling for the setup. Wikileaks is the excuse to control the internet....with the willing support of conservatives everywhere.

Then, they will deem FR as dangerous (after some contrived incident like OKC)and shut it down as well.

Easy there. Some people actually believe WL is attacking people from the wiki domain. Roll eyes.
