John McCain is in more hot water after appearing to concede he could lose the US presidential election by telling voters they have nothing to fear with Barack Obama in the White House.
The extraordinary gaffe comes just three weeks before Election Day with the Republican candidate trailing badly in the polls.
Now Republican aides fear he may have further damaged his chances by accepting the possibility that he could be defeated.

Mr. McCain made his remark while appealing for calm on the campaign trail amid fears that angry outbursts from supporters were raging out of control.
After a particularly fired-up rally in Minnesota, Mr McCain was booed when he tried to soothe the crowd, defending Mr. Obama as "a decent person and a person you do not have to be scared of as president of the United States."

That was when we knew for certain that the towel had been thrown and the fix was in.

When are Republicans going to stop voting for such people?
Sigh.
I agree with you. I looked at my wife when I heard this and said “Barack just won the election”. A lot of people wanted to vote for him but were on the fence because of a valid concern over his lack of experience. McCain gave them the green light to make the vote. Pure idiocy.
Three things I dislike on FR ...
Liberal Trolls
RINOS
adding to the list:
RINO TROLLS ... usually find them attacking women conservatives, or defending RonPaul’s lunatic supporters.
MAy GOD Help Us!!!
How about Lost Causers who deny that the Civil War had anything to do with slavery and accuse you of being a liberal if you argue otherwise?
Mcain was the other puppet set up to make us, the American public believe this was a real election. Staged to where it has brought us today. Bush lit the fuse, Mclame was told to take a fall in the 2nd round leading the way for the tephlon (black) president and the winner is Soros
**How about Lost Causers...**
Those are RonPaul supporters.. a subclass of
RINO Troll!!
No one ever accused McCain of having any sense.
Yep. Juan was trowing in the towel long before the race was over. NO MORE RINO’s!!!! This is a very good reason that people like Romney and NEWT shouldn’t get a single vote in the primaries!!
he always plays the nice guy, gawd wish he had the cojonies Sarah has what a joke he was, only good thing he DID was to introduce us to our next President the great SARAH PALIN
bttt
“McCain tells voters: We have nothing to fear with Barack Obama in the White House “
He didn’t have anything to fear because he knew Republicans would help re-elect him.
I remember when McCain said that. At the time, I thought it was the biggest gaffe a candidate had made since Dukakis in the tank or Ford on the Soviet domination of Poland.
Now, I agree with what many others are saying here: it was a sign that McCain had accepted defeat was inevitable and was clearing the way for Obama. And that bothers me far worse than any gaffe he could have made.
I will always respect McCain for his military service to his country and honor him for what he endured as a POW. But I have little left but contempt for his 2008 candidacy and for his actions since then.
I don’t personally care for David Letterman, but after one of the Presidential Debates, where McCain kept walking back and forth on the stage, he said, “McCain looked like an old man looking for his car keys in the parking lot.” I had to agree with him and I think a lot of people did also.
McCain’s campaign held a valuable lesson. DO NOT run a campaign of appeasement, do not play the ‘nice guy’, do not praise the opposition. It may seem nice, but it doesn’t work.
Yes. It was all over at that point.
Dirty ol RINO.
