Gay Rights: The purpose of our military is to kill people and break things when necessary. It's not a tool for social engineering. Wartime is not the time to repeal "don't ask, don't tell."
Repealing the "don't ask, don't tell" policy begun under President Clinton in 1993 is neither a legislative nor a military priority while we are engaged militarily in Iraq and Afghanistan and knee-deep in a jobless recovery where the issues of national debt and tax cuts should be paramount.
Yet liberals drowning in political correctness consider it a priority, as does Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who plans to use precious lame-duck session time to push for it. He's even enlisted the support of over-the-top pop star Lady Gaga, who, after a series of tweets with Reid, produced a YouTube video imploring the Senate to repeal DADT.

So if DADT is repealed they can ask the sexual preferences of recruits?
I wonder if this is all leading up to domestic partnerships. Domestic partnerships would make those who were partnered to military personnel qualified to receive all the services of the military. A domestic partner with AIDS would be able to access the V A for medical care. Also, such partners would get access to commissary privileges and housing. They would get what heterosexuals would be unable to get unless they were married.
Nah. You do get to wear your choice of uniform, though...
Let’s be honest: the “wartime is no time for this” is a ridiculous argument. Either the ban is a good thing (which I think it is) and should stay in place during war or peace, or it’s meaningless in which case it’s repeal can happen either during a time of peace or a time of war.
We need to attack the left head on and not make excuses.
