SAN FRANCISCO (CBS/AP) Bay Area residents are hoping for a warmer weekend after a Thanksgiving cold snap broke or tied cold-temperature records some more than a century old up and down the state.
The National Weather Service reports that San Franciscos low of 42 degrees on Thursday tied a record set back in 1892. Across the bay in Oakland, 36-degree daytime temperatures shattered the old record of 42.
The mercury in Los Angeles dropped to 42, tying a 1946 record.

This explains the heavy fur coats on the squirrels too.. damn global varming..
OH NO, now how to explain away this inconvenient fact? Oh I know, global warming causes global cooling. :))) Oh wait, if global warming causes global cooling, wouldn’t they cancel each other out???
but wait.. it could change ..

Whew.
Hope the succulents do OK.. and it’s only November 8-o
No BFD as Biden would say. So it got a little bit on the colder side but nothing too frigid. Next!
ping
It’s colder due to getting warmer ping.
As an aside, I would have loved having their lows as my highs this past week. Too early to be hitting -8 overnight, and having a high of only 18!
It has been colder than he** over here on the eastern edge of CA in the foot hills also(about 90 miles in a straight line from SF). I guess global warming hasn’t reached here yet.
and also some that voted several times although they didn't know it. I had one broken plastic kitchen sink type sprayer break and flood the garden yesterday morning so I decided I waited too long to turn the outside water off again this year...
yah...here in Southwest Washington, when I went out for the paper on the morning before Thanksgiving, we had 15 whole degrees of Global Warming here...
It was so bitter today (”how bitter was it?”) that I went into one store just to buy a freakin’ stocking cap, having not brought one with me.
I thought it was against the law to buy needed items on Black Friday.
Also, aren’t there minimum spending limits in effect, to help boost government statistics?!?
Only thing I bought today was a new asthma inhaler; no, they didn’t discount it.
Post Office didn’t have any specials on stamps, either; I asked when I picked up our mail.
We wouldn’t have left the house, but we had to drive in to town to check up on our friends’ cat while they’re out of town. Their dog, Rusty, (AKA Jar-Jar Binks) is staying here with us, much to the disgust of the household felines...as my freshly shredded chest can attest.
