There is more than honor that goes along with being the first overall pick in a draft. There is responsibility. Responsibility to do something special. Josh Hamilton has fulfilled his responsibility. Tuesday afternoon Hamilton capped off a special season by being named the American League's Most Valuable Player. In the 45 years since Major League Baseball began holding an amateur draft, he is only the sixth overall first pick to end up winning the game's highest individual award.

Well deserved. Josh has a great personal story to go along with his terrific baseball skills.
A heartfelt congratulations to a former Devil Ray!
Front page on ESPN? An article/photo about Tom Brady’s hair...the lefties at ESPN hate anything Texan...
Congrats to Hamilton. He is a great player. However, due to injury, he only played in 133 games and had 571 plate appearances. Far less than Cabrera, (150 games,648 PA) and Cano (161 games, 674 PA). Obviously, he accomplished a lot in the games he did play. I just think the winner of this award should’t be allowed to miss so many games.
By the way, I think that Texas Claw and the antler thing are stupid.
Much deserved. Congrats from an Angels fan.
Good Going Josh!!!
Score one for the good guys!
I was so impressed with the Rangers when they won the ALCS. The guys sprayed ginger ale at each other while Josh was there. Left the champagne for later when he wasn’t there.
Awesome respect.
Let’s do it again next year!!!
THAT’S BULL CRAP IT SHOULD HAVE WENT TO ROBINSON CANO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Josh Hamilton H-AB in the World Series: 0-4, 0-4, 1-4, 0-4, 0-4.
Before the Series, the nation seemed to agree that the S.F. Giants could not hit Cliff Lee or pitch to Josh Hamilton.
America now knows to Fear the Beard.
