Where the jobs are...(India)
Self (Vanity) | 11/12/2010 | AnotherCTFreeper

An (I/T) H1B who works at my company is returning to India because his visa expired. When one of my peers asked him if he has a job in India yet, the H1B just waved his hand and said, “there are plenty of jobs in India; I am not worried about that.”.

It is amazing how far America has fallen.

Hope & Change. What really sucks is many IT Depts at US Corps became ghettoes of Indians, Chinese, Pakistanis and others where Americans were NOT hired. Most of the time the Americans are much better programmers.

We are a people that has a government, not a government that has a people.

Keep our eyes focused on the restoration of our Constitution.

Not a surprise, considering BHO sent $22 million to South Asia this summer for job training.

Globalism is not to the develop world’s advantage. But it feeds the pocket books and egos of elitists who fancy themselves with acquiring power over the whole world.

They are going to crash our economy and it’s too late to avoid the suffering for Americans. But we when we pick up the pieces we can take our future out of their hands and wreck their global sandbox. We must do that.

Today is my last day as a medical transcriptionist, my career for the last 26 years. Our department was outsourced to India by the hospital. Can't wait to see the end results of THIS experiment.

No violation of HIPAA in that?

First Americans did the jobs for American companies. Then foreigners were brought here to learn from Americans and do it for foreign wages. Then some went home and trained other Indians to do our work. Now the Indians are trained to do American work - and can now do the work in India for Indian wages.

Excellent points. And, yes, Americans must take our future out of the Globalists hands and rebuild our American economy

I spent some time in India training our "overseas team members" and the most highly sought after talent were the guys with experience working in North America or Europe. A degree from IIT and international experience was the ultimate seal of approval for the upwardly mobile.

He will be beating off employers with a stick, as well as potential wives from wealthy families.

And for the record our outsourcing of software development to India where our platform was to be ported to run on a Chinese hardware reference design was an unmitigated disaster that has all but taken the company down.

There’s lots of freepers who seem to employee outsourcing that will tell you..

Don’t fight it, take it. Live that 3rd world. Calm down, take it. It’s what you deserve.

Wars used to be fought over saving our way of life. Now it’s ‘take it... Be a man, walk it off’.

There are unfortunately a lot of people who seem to consider being an indifferent asshole a prerequisite to being a conservative.

I’m incredibly sick of it. There are so many that’ll throw American exceptionalism in the wind for this quest for ‘free trade’.

What an amazing trade. What used to support a middle class now supports nothing. But you’ll hear them say, ‘eh, stuff it’.

At that point, there needs to be a real force to stop them. The dying middle class has to do something.

There are plenty of jobs in India, true. With US corporations. So many, that these corporations compete for the IT personnel, who, I know from experience, don’t stay in a job for more than a few months. But that’s all right, as they demand a fraction of the salaries of their US counterparts. And, again from experience, the Indians call in sick once a week, and like to celebrate their numerous religious holidays.
