McGeehan notified Ortiz in a letter dated today that he failed to include all precinct polls in District 27 in the requested recount and that his deposit of $11,500 was not sufficient and instead should be $23,500. Gee, I wonder which precincts Ortiz left out?

I don’t think he had much of a chance to pull out a win anyway.

Just a technicality. They should have just approved the recount to ensure every vote is counted fairly and the will of the people not overruled. (channeling conservatives who think following the rules in the Alaska race is disrespecting the will of voters)

U.S. Rep. Solomon P. Ortizs petition for a recount of votes cast for the U.S. House of Representatives from District 27 has been denied. Texas Secretary of State Director of Elections Ann McGeehan said Ortiz' request was rejected because of specific defects in it.
Ortiz has until Nov. 24 to amend the petition and submit a corrected one.
McGeehan notified Ortiz in a letter dated today that he failed to include all precinct polls in District 27 in the requested recount and that his deposit of $11,500 was not sufficient and instead should be $23,500.
Ortiz also failed to note whether he was requesting a manual or electronic recount.
Ortiz, the Democratic incumbent, lost the District 27 congressional seat to newcomer Blake Farenthold, a Republican, by 797 votes, unofficial election returns show.
Farenthold received 50,976 votes to Ortizs 50,179, according to election returns.
There's nothing I love better than to see a RARE occasion of a demoRAT libturd, especially an incumbent, getting shot down in a contested election. As some others have pointed out, Ortiz screwed up....he failed to steal or invent enough votes to overcome a 797 vote deficit, and I bet he is howling mad over this!!!
Brwwwwhhhhaaaaa!!!
