NEW DELHI: Muslim activists and opinion-makers on Sunday widely approved of President Barack Obama's remarks on jihad without hiding their reservations about the US policy towards the current turomil in the Islamic world.
They sought to draw a line between the real meaning of `jihad' and the current spell of violence targeting the innocent.
In their opinion Obama's comments on jihad at Mumbai's St Xavier's College earlier in the day was a clear attempt at separating the violent campaign from the basic concept of jihad.

The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
The basic concept of jihad is “KILL”.
Of course they would. Obama applied the Muslim principle of Al Takia..
Yeah, they probably approved them before he spoke in public.
“In western societies the term jihad is often translated as “holy war””
Too bad Nobama, the muslim resident in our White House doesn’t know how to go on the liberal Wikipedia. Could have saved him from his pained speech about everything else that jihad wasn’t.
It basically allows muslims to murder innocent people as long as their intent is in Allah’s praise.
But, Nobama being a devout muslim, caused him to stutter and stammer . . . no help from his bozo-prompter machine.
“Jihad gone wild” is the only problem huh.
To be fair to the Bummer, the same thing was said by George W. Bush, but differently (”Islam is a religion of PEACE.”)
As long as the Koran says what it does, jihad will always have a rabid-dog-mad wild side.
How can the producers take things out of context and build such a presentation? /s

After a long pause and a few repetitive mutterings to buy time, 0bummie danced evasively around the jihad question, praising Muslims and Islam all the while. He never mentioned holy war which is the generally accepted definition for jihad.
It's official - the Muslim Brotherhood declares war on America
Snip: Here we go: The leader of the Muslim Brotherhood has endorsed (Arabic) (English translation by MEMRI) anti-American Jihad and pretty much every element in the al-Qaida ideology book. Since the Brotherhood is the main opposition force in Egypt and Jordan as well as the most powerful group, both politically and religiously, in the Muslim communities of Europe and North America this is pretty serious stuff.
-------
But it does mean that something awaited for decades has happened: the Muslim Brotherhood is ready to move from the era of propaganda and base-building to one of revolutionary action. At least, its hundreds of thousands of followers are being given that signal. Some of them will engage in terrorist violence as individuals or forming splinter groups; others will redouble their efforts to seize control of their countries and turn them into safe areas for terrorists and instruments for war on the West.
Read it all. And pray the U.S. government gets the memo. Soon.
I strongly disagree with that man’s quotes.
Really makes me angry! "Current" - yeah, like since 700 freaking AD!
I can’t believe that the Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and Sikhs of India bought a single word of that BS.
It is so powerful when you simply let their own words hang them.
It depends on what you consider the definition of IS is.
Muslims do not consider infidels to be innocents.
Muslims do not believe that any infidel should ever be in a position of authority over a Muslim. They consider that injustice by definition.
So this Muslim in his own mind is perfectly correct in what he says and even if he thinks he is stretching the truth; thats okay too, because it is sanctioned by the Koran to lie to the unbeliever if it advances the cause of Allah.
Its been taqiyya for the whole Barry Obama ride!
Whew! Just as long as THEY do, I'm good wiff it. (Didja hear that tortured version the rookie Hussein gave without answering the question?)
It all depends on what the definition of 'jihad' is.
