Abolish the TSA.

They do NOTHING to make us safer. It is a "make work" job.

Someone tell the GOP House leaders, "You want to save money?" - defund these GS goons.

This is virtual rape, and we don't have to stand for it.

I don’t fly anymore. It’s just become an incredible ordeal, and there’s no longer anywhere worth going that fast.

This is a little off subject, but not really and I have to go to work asap, so here goes: Yesterday in Stow, MA, an airplane school proprietor and dozens of students....all illegal immigrants...were arrested. The students, maybe 64 or so, had taken flying lessons for the past several years. Their lawyer said in their home countries airplane pilots were regarded as upper middle class, like a lawyer or doctor. They didn’t have plans to fly into buildings. Stow airport is very small, insignificant, but Home Security has egg on its face.

I’ve become cynical in my old age. “Average Joe” government employee want’s to play it safe. When I traveled with my husband, a commercial pilot, we were always singled out for “special screening.” Like being behind the yoke of an airplane wasn’t a big enough threat. (Rolling eyes.) At least they were always nice and apologetic during the pat down. As I explained to a neighbor who Children’s Services was going after for their child’s excessive absenteeism, never mind she was sick and had a doctor’s note, “You’re white. You make them look like they’re doing their job. They’re not going to go into the ghetto and risk being shot. You legitimize them.” I took care of ghetto crack babies for years. The first person the courts ever actually went after was white. They will always take the safe and easy route to say they did their job. Apologies to the 1% that actually do care.

I wonder if Mr. Sharkey will now find himself on a list (for extra intrusive inspection) of troublesome citizens who ask questions and publicize the TSA abuses?

I wonder if Nappy-Head Napolitano understands this:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

It really sucks when politicians consider all travelers to be guilty, yet they don't subject themselves to the same abusive treatment.

DHS and TSA need to abolished to the dumpster.

I’m not going to fly anymore. Already the economy over the past couple of years has limited our family travel to driving vacations, but after reading this and other articles about the horrors brought on by Janet Incompetano, I’m fine with packing up the Tahoe.

We need to start and “Opt-out” society.

If everyone opted out, these machines would be useless. If they forced it upon us, they’d find out how unpopular this horseshit is.

I will refuse to go through one of these. I’m not someone anyone wants to look at and frankly, it’s not about them seeing me virtually naked, if they can stomach to look at me, more power to ‘em. It’s the presumption of guilt that really pisses me off.

It’s not about terrorism. 9/11 was just an excuse for the government (Bush at the time) to do what it really wanted to do: harass innocent citizens and teach them that submission is the right way to go.

This same thing happened to me a few weeks ago, in Atlanta, when I opted out. They started yelling ‘opt-out, opt-out’. Then quickly a few of the TSA goons surrounded me, as I must have been the only one in a long time to refuse the body scanning machine, and then took me aside.

They searched me like the article said, plus my carry-on. Then they did a swipe on my carry-on and my hands, then I could hear them say that I tested positive for something, like explosives.
This brought some big guys into play. I was amused. Anyway they started asking me all kinds of personal questions, like do I take any medication. I take some rx medicine and some vitamins everyday. They some more swipes, checked them in the machine again, and those swipes came up positive.

So I just stood there seeing how this was going to play out. I was not guilty of anything so I was not too bothered.

They started talking by themselves over in a small group, while they left me with one guy who told me if I had gone through the body scanner, I would not be delayed and that machine would not have caught me as being positive. I just keep my mouth shut, not denying anything, as I wanted to see what they would do.

Anyway, after about 10-15 minutes, another higher up came and talked to me. He told me the rx I take will sometimes caused a false positive reading to show up on their machines. Some of the other TSA goons looked surprised when he said this. He talked it over with the others and they talked among themselves. I finally asked him I could go, as I wanted to force a decision from them. The higher-up asked the others what they thought, they would not make a decsion, and he finally told me I was free to leave.

The goons quickly dispersed back and left me.

Would I do this again? The answer is yes, for sure. I think all of this happened because I refuse the body scanners and this was to teach me not to refuse the next time. I do not believe I really tested positive, as this was all played out to intimidate me to ensure I would never do this again. Little do they know my determination. I guess I need to plan a few more minutes in my travel for times like this.

Simple solution...

We recruit from “The people of Walmart” for those to take the full body scan (even though they might have to take several scans to fit).

We recruit Gay Pride parade participants in full costume for the pat downs.

The TSA might surrender first.

Homeland Security is totally insane and is dangerous to Americans. We need to narrow it’s scope to focus only on Muslim radicals with police powers granted to them in the patriot act. As it is now, all Americans are treated as terrorists and the public is damn sick and tired of it.

They are fondling the croches of women and children and fondling womens’ breasts. They are aggressively abusive to Americans. They have named social and political activists they don’t like as terrorists. This is enough.

Like several other posters, I quit flying. Last flight was in 1996. Granted, I have since retired. But I really enjoy driving to my destination, even if it involves several days.

This is such a beautiful country filled, for the most part, with friendly, interesting people. Get off the Interstates and drive the back roads.

FINALLY — A great alternative to body scanners at airports . . .

The Israelis are developing an airport security device that eliminates the privacy concerns that come with full-body scanners at the airports.

It’s a booth you can step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have on you. They see this as a win-win for everyone, with none of this crap about racial profiling. It also would eliminate the costs of a long and expensive trial. Justice would be swift. Case closed!

You’re in the airport terminal and you hear a muffled explosion. Shortly thereafter an announcement comes over the PA system . . . “Attention standby passengers — we now have a seat available on flight number 1234. Shalom!

What did I do to deserve this? Well, as I approached the checkpoints, I had two choices. One was a familiar lane with the metal detector, so I put my bag on that. To my right was a separate lane dominated with what the Transportation Security Administration initially called “whole-body imagers” but has now labeled “advanced imaging technology” units. Critics, of course, call them strip-search machines.

From what I read on a blog (FWIW), the TSA employees call them "Dick Measurers." Guess why.
