As I see it Democrats usually rely on a lot of dead voters, so it follows that they might as well run a dead candidate. You know, appeal to their core voting bloc.

Seeing how California just signed its own death warrant, it's logical that the voters' intent was to fill the state legislature with corpses. Are they going to invalidate the will of the people of California by appointing someone else to this rightfully won seat?

I voted for a dead man in ‘08 ... candidate for County Soil and Water Supervisor, or something like that. I assume he’s done an adequate job in the post, since we still have soil and water in the county.

A more accurate headline would be Democrats elect a dead woman, but I guess that would be too telling of the Demos state of mind. . .

California REPUBS should sue arguing that the state should not discriminate against the deceased (which would happen if a special election were held). Voters in that district, in their wisdom, can simply be represented by said elected official (too bad if she cannot push the freaking vote button on the house floor).

The story here isn’t that a dead person got elected. The story is that the Republicans fielded such a poor candidate they couldn’t beat a dead person.

Apparently there aren’t any in California either.

He should contest the election results as the other candidate wasn’t qualified to serve, by virtue of her having assumed room temperature.
