As your representative from the 3rd District, I have worked hard to bring positive change through my support for the Health Care Reform Act, as well as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act which created the new Turnip ethanol plant and nearly a dozen new high-paying jobs right here in the Quint Cities. I am proud to have earned the endorsement of the Claxon-Ledger, the United Turnip Workers Union, and President Obama. I somehow got on the DNC mailing list a few years back. I have no idea why. But I enjoyed filling out the surveys including the comments until they figured out the mistake.
I talk about Iowahawk so much my husband is starting to check my cellphone bill for Iowa phone prefixes.... ;^)
No books. He might be the best living American satirist, yet he has not had one damn book published. It is criminal.
I have offered myself as a groupie or a slave, but there has been no response. Puzzling. Next I’m planning to sell my house and offer the proceeds to him for car parts. What else shall I try? Could I send him naked pictures of myself? Naked pictures of my car?
I’m actually anti-slavery, but I’ll cheerfully accept those nekkid pix.
I should think it would be fairly easy to assemble some of his greatest columns and put them into a highly successful book. However, an important part of book publishing is the ability of the author to promote his own work, appear on radio and TV shows, go to signings and talks. Is Dave Burge as good at talking and joking as he is at writing? That’s crucial for widespread success and high sales.
Thanks, but I really don’t have the slightest interest in publishing a book, or even expanding my readership. I like to think of my blog as one of those underground bands that only a few hipsters know about.
I can tell you what NOT to do...don’t forward the pics of Brett Favre - they are proven not to work.
(psssst - ask him for an autographed fabulous diamond-tipped cane, like one of those he uses to fend off beggars - er, the homeless.)
