If Washington normally blends the business of government with electoral politics, this week signifies a turn toward an unalloyed electoral brawl.
Democratic Congressional leaders have sent members home without resolving their greatest outstanding disagreement with Republicans, over the Bush tax cuts due to expire at years end.

I’ve always heard that DemocRATs eat their own. But Pelosi? EEEEEEEUUUUUUU!
:^)
Big smile. Thanks, I needed cheering up, sickoflibs. Because, here in the greater Metro "D" area, believe me, we know losses...Oh, oh, RedEye moment...The "D" knows losses like I know angry bosses, and here comes one now...
Maybe Carville and Begala can form a comedy duo after the November conflagration....
” The Serpent & The Forehead “
Meant to ping you to 23 ;-)
The Serpent & The Forehead —— Gong Show material.
They could challenge each other to see who could tell the most lies in 60 seconds. Begala would win every time, I fear....
No worries, SJB! Thanks for the chuckle. Not a very pretty visual, but still funny.

Gotta love those soft, kindly Pelosi eyes.

Nor, with her speakership on the line, does she object to Democrats in conservative districts appealing to their constituents by criticizing her. I say go for it, Ms. Pelosi said. She would counsel those vulnerable Democrats, Just win your election.
IOW, temporarily pretend you hate me so you can get elected to vote for me as speaker. This is a made-to-order anti-Dem house member ad (TV, radio, whatever). Conservatives, carpe diem!
I’ve been thinking Hoyer (if he wins, he’s in a tiny amount of danger himself) will be the minority leader no matter how large the minority.
As for the dems who say they are against Pelosi, they all voted for her.
