If they were using a laptop hooked up to a projector to display their presentation, they could have been browsing the file structure on their flash drive to find the presentation file. On both Mac's and PC's, modern file browsers can be set to display a preview of the file's contents. If those contents are a picture, it can be displayed as the file's icon.

Another feature in some file browsers is an "auto-play" feature for externally mounted storage media like DVD's and USB drives.

Either of the above scenarios could have displayed the inappropriate content.

A little forethought on the blood bank employees part could have kept this from happening. I imagine this kind of snafu is something that will reflect negatively on their resume.

High school seniors. I'm sure they have never before seen any porn, especially on the internet.

So that’s why they’re called “flash” drives.

Rule #1 — Have separate flash drives for your porn collection and high school presentations.

All we were ever shown was a live human birth flick from the 1960’s, just before lunch.

It is not so much seniors being robbed of their innocence which is highly unlikely in today’s society. The issue is school officials overstepping the taboos against interacting with students sexually. Showing students porn is interacting with students sexually.

We had a math teacher in our high school who “accidently” had gay porn on his computer screen multiple times while meeting with male students. The male students were not shocked, but they did determine the old fart was a pervert focused sexaully on them. He got removed after the fourth porn “accident.”

Someone at our school got a hold of the key for the Pepsi vending machine and filled it with beer! It got very popular very quickly and emptied before the principal could quarantine the area, LOL.

Pretty much my thoughts. This was no accident. Images just don’t shown up in a presentation. They are put there by someone.

BTW - Isn’t porn at work a fire-able offense these days?

“BTW - Isn’t porn at work a fire-able offense these days?”

Sure, because it’s directed against adults, who get some defense.

Do it to a bunch of kids, - boys and girls - compelled by law to be in attendance - and it’s all snorts and giggles.

One of the MANY reasons my sons and DAUGHTERS don’t go to public school.

If this WAS an accident, it happened because porn is so ok in our society that those in charge did not really care whether the accident happened or not.

I gave gallons of blood over the years but came across a story which annoyed me about 2 years ago.

Apparently it is against the law to pay anyone a dime for their blood. Yet, the organizations which take your blood can sell it for up to $150 a pint. I always wondered why the facilities were so nice and there were so many people walking around in suits.

Haven’t given nearly as much since then.

I don’t know what the laws in Texas are now but they did pay you about 15 bucks for donating. That was 30 years ago. Here in Pa you can be on the family plan and if a family member needs blood they won’t charge you for the pints you donated already. At least thats how it was explained. I work at hospital where the blood bank is located in the same office space as the lab. Only suit I see is when the supervisor drops by to check on them.
