The Ground Zero mosque - what US could learn from Israel (Sobering Read)
Jerusalem Post ^ | 9/3/2010 | Daniel Gordis

....One need not be racist or Islamophobic to be concerned about the mosque. For life in our region has taught us that the first necessary step to defending yourself is acknowledging that someone else is out to destroy you.

In the suburban, well-educated, politically and Jewishly liberal America in which I grew up, we didn’t use the label “enemy.” “Enemy” was a dirty word, because it implied the immutability of conflict. Yes, there were people who fought us, but only because we hadn’t yet arrived at a fair resolution of our conflict. We needed to understand them, so we could then resolve the conflicts that divided us.

I still recall being jarred, when we made aliya, by the matter-of-factness with which Israelis use the word “enemy.” But it wasn’t a judgment or an accusation. It was simply a fact: There are people out to destroy our state, who seek to kill us and our children. And as the intifada later amply demonstrated, they did not yearn for our understanding or our friendship. They wanted our demise.

And yet, even in Israel, of all places, the insanity of the left persists.

A majot tenet of Liberalism. Taking that approach with Muslims is suicidal.

Ghandi got away with his agitation only because he was up against the British, who by and large, played by the rules. Had he gone up against Stalin he would have disappeared and his followers sent to a Gulag.

An ACLU lawyer was attempting to make the case that America shouldn’t go after an American born terrorist with leathal force, as though he desrves a trial.
He insisted there was “No urgency”.
Never mind that the Time Square bomber, the Christmas airline bomber, and the Ft. Hood shooter each had ties to this terrorist...
He asked “What’s the hurry?”, as though there’s no future threat, because the NYT hasn’t warned us of one yet....

This conflict that began when Abraham sent Ishmael away (with his mother and much wealth) and God said He would make Ishmael a great nation. Ishmael had 12 sons as did Jacob. But God had chosen Isaac to be the son that was to be the son of the covenant promise.

So this conflict is seated in deep deep hatred. Good versus evil.

Only God can change this fact and bring any other solution. The Bible says there will be a huge battle and we can see it is near. Read the Bible. The story is there and it is inevitable.

We can choose sides... or have our side chosen for us by our unbelief.

Let’s also not forget what happens at the Dome of The Rock, the triumphilast mosque built on the 2nd Temple and what routinely happens when Jews pray at the Western Wall.

A situation as existed in Beslan six years ago will perhaps wake us up. But, then again, it may make us permanently put on the kneepads and cuddle Muslims even more.

Its tendency to gentility is part of what has made America great. But an unwillingness to call an “enemy” an enemy could lead to America’s demise. For Islam’s radical leaders tell us clearly what they seek: a world united under Islam, with America’s sacred freedoms eradicated...

Excellent piece.

The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.

I don’t think America has admitted it has a problem yet.

I’m reminded of, in _Republican Party Reptile_, P.J. O’Rourke writes something like— if Liberalism existed in ancient Rome, they would have pulled-back their legions from the Rhine frontier and established a Germanic Studies program in Athens. And that reminds me: after 20 years, I really need to re-read that book!

But God had chosen Isaac to be the son that was to be the son of the covenant promise.

How true your words. Consider this:

"The Jewish (and later Christian) alternative to pagan social order is the Covenant: God in his love assigns rights to every human being, and establishes laws for the protection of the weak and helpless. Covenant is a concept alien to Islam, for by definition a God of covenants places a limit on his own power and enters into a partnership with a human society. The all-transcendent Allah does not stoop to make covenants with mere humans; not so YHWH of the Hebrews. No longer can the Roman paterfamilias command the death of his own children in the little empire of his home; the covenant protects every member of society directly. Because the covenant is expressed through laws, and laws require reasoning, the God of covenants must be a God of reason."

The quote above was taken from an essay by the enigmatic Spenger, and is well worth reading:

Tony Blair has said, Radical Islam is world's greatest threat

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-11182225

And I agree, but I also believe you can drop the word ‘radical’ from that sentence. Tell me how one is to differentiate between them? (radical and Islam that is)

And don’t miss this Saturday’s sign, the crescent new moon occults Venus and this is a predominant sign in Islamic imagery.

Notice the dates:
09/11/2010
09/11/2001

This tells me that whoever planed the 9/11/01 attacks (Abdullah II, king of Jordan) was well aware of this sign! But I’m sure our government is up to speed on these things by now, aw, who am I kidding? If we’re relying on the (any) government we’re all doomed!

Clip:

(September 11, 2010) — Venus 0.3° north of Moon, occultation
An occultation occurs when one object passes in front of a smaller one, temporarily obscuring all or part of the background object from view.

http://www.astronomy.com/asy/default.aspx?c=sk&id=130

Clip:

Ottomans being Turks were using a crescent bearing flag. When Saleem I resumed power as the caliph, the Ottoman flag was red with a green circle and three yellow crescents. Ottomans for the first time separate the religious flag and the national flag. The national flag was red with crescent facing right, while the religious flag green with crescent facing right. Later, a five-cornered star was added to symbolize the five pillars of Islam.

This green flag with crescent and star became a standard Islamic flag and is used till date, and it is very interesting that most of the people think that this flag has been used by Muslims since the beginning. This crescent bearing flag has been used by different Muslim empires and nations in the history especially those having Turkish origin. This crescent flag with some variations is still in use by different Muslim entities, e.g., Algeria, Azerbaijan, Comoros, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritania, Pakistan, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Uzbekistan, and Western Sahara.

See further discussion on our pages about the Ottoman Empire.

See: Islamic Flags at:

http://www.fotw.net/flags/isl-ori.html#isl-era

And as for this Muslim center planned in downtown Manhattan let’s take a look at the area. I can tell you there is no large Islamic population downtown that needs a mosque there. The people visiting this center would be from Brooklyn, Queens, New Jersey etc. the location is completely symbolic. I saw one woman on TV that got it right, she said, “They build their mosques at the site of their victories.” Check!

Oy,,, to be continued…
