Statement of Debra Burlingame, Co-founder of 9/11 Families for a Safe & Strong America, in Response to President Obama's Remarks about the Ground Zero Mosque
911 Families Stunned Presidents Support of Mosque at Ground Zero
New York, NY, Aug. 14 -- Barack Obama has abandoned America at the place where America's heart was broken nine years ago, and where her true values were on display for all to see. Since that dark day, Americans have been asked to bear the burden of defending those values, again and again and again. Now this president declares that the victims of 9/11 and their families must bear another burden. We must stand silent at the last place in America where 9/11 is still remembered with reverence or risk being called religious bigots.
Muslims have worshipped in New York without incident both before and after the attacks of 9/11. This controversy is not about religious freedom. 9/11 was more than a "deeply traumatic event," it was an act of war. Building a 15-story mosque at Ground Zero is a deliberately provocative act that will precipitate more bloodshed in the name of Allah. Those who continue to target and kill American civilians and U.S. troops will see it as a symbol of their historic progress at the site of their most bloody victory. Demolishing a building that was damaged by wreckage from one of the hijacked planes in order to build a mosque and Islamic Center will further energize those who regard it as a ratification of their violent and divinely ordered mission: the spread of shariah law and its subjugation of all free people, including secular Muslims who come to this country fleeing that medieval ideology, which destroys lives and crushes the human spirit.
We are stunned by the president's willingness to disregard what Americans should be proud of: our enduring generosity to others on 9/11--a day when human decency triumphed over human depravity. On that day, when 3,000 of our fellow human beings were killed in barbaric act of raw religious intolerance unlike this country had ever seen, Americans did not turn outward with hatred or violence, we turned to each other, armed with nothing more than American flags and countless acts of kindness. In a breathtakingly inappropriate setting, the president has chosen to declare our memories of 9/11 obsolete and the sanctity of Ground Zero finished. No one who has lived this history and felt the sting of our country's loss that day can truly believe that putting our families through more wrenching heartache can be an act of peace.
We will honor the memory of our loved ones. We will protect our children, whose lives will never be the same. We will not stand silent.

I think the families of the 9-11 victims might be angry enough at Obama over this that they wouldn’t even object to the seriousness of 9-11 being brought to everyone’s mind again.
Better that, than to forget what it means and spit on the innocent lives lost as Obama means to do.
Maybe some video footage of the Muslim dancing in the streets on 9-11 also...

I have read that our children are being taught that 9/11 was no big deal. In some cases, mention of it has been forbidden.
We are raising generations that will not remember and eventually, generations born so long after that they won’t know about it at all. We cannot allow that to happen.

Obama fights agianst the border sieve by verbally and through the courts warring against states that do not believe as he does even though he never read the federal law.
Obama borrows to death and prints more money daily, arming Lebanon, giving aide to the enemy hinting at allying with Taliban( killed 10 Christians just a week ago).
Obama tears apart health care and forces our elected officials to vote on something never read, thus opening the door for people to open the doors of our homes.
Obama has tossed our great grandchildren in debt.
Obama never outright stated the Ft Hood murderer was a muslim.
Obama's call to prayer was actually a call to convert in arabic.
Obama never raised his hand to the flag of America.
Obama never cited the oath of office, just a recording.
Obama has rendered Congress and the House obsolete with his czars flanking them at every turn.
Obama lies when he says he's Christian, but only a few folks in America care though maybe now the veil is completely off.
Obama fights for the mosque at ground zero yet one must still womder where the 100 million came from.
Obama uses a muslim Imam who holds hope Hamas can fulfull their decrees and the State Department makes him the "link" between east and West?
More I've forgotten. This is an act of war under the guise of political corectnes as he continues to divide, play the race card(s) and do what HE wants, not what we the people want. This in a real sense is treason as it aids and abets our enemies under the veil that all's well and his hope and change idealist views is what America needs to move forward yet is creaing division worse than our own civil war.
Being a realist, I think Obama has a shady past, a shadier present with dreams not of his father but hope to change America as a foothold for the sieve of more radical islam with the aide of CAIR the muzzie brotherhood and more.
He's an enemy to our nation and yet we the people can do nothing but vote and watch and pray.
Tell me, what has he done to offer hope? One thing? He takes no blame and still blames the past president and has a patsy as CIA director. Remember what he's done to the CIA.
Oh we must pray( and for him of course), fast and pray and grieve and prepare for the horrors that will eventually come if he continues to push, continues to lie and force so much upon us that we cannot bear.
Our forefathers ran from the four corners of the world when pogroms and the terrors of the old world were nipping at their heals to kill them. America was always a safe haven for the few that made it here; it was the dream, is the dream we must continue to fight for.

I guess some people are idiots or in denial because it’s as obvious as the nose on your face and has been since long before he was elected. He isn’t even hiding it anymore. I keep waiting for the press conference where he announces he is ‘becoming’ a Muslim to join the rest of his family’s religion.
I used to think that but I don’t anymore. I think about 75% or more would willingly hand over their weapons and ammo.
He sat in that South Side Chicago Church for 22 years, partly for show and partly to cover his Islamic roots.

Yep....that's the Shia call. Living in one of the countries that has both the Shia and Sunni calls, I've had the locals translate the calls for me when we hear them. (I hear 'em both daily, usually more than once, depending on whether I'm outside.)
The Sunnis leave out the "Ali" part. The Shia version has a lengthy praise of Ali after the praise of Mohammed.
When I hear it, I am compelled to bow my head and send up a short prayer to Jesus Christ, thanking Him for being in my life.
It is stunning, and you are right, the Won is crazy and demented. He is the most dangerous person for the Republic in my lifetime, period. I hope the nation survives. Every time I see a muslim I give them a nasty dirty look. They creep me out. Enemies in the house.
And I lived 3 years in Cairo. I know what I am talking about. These muslims want to wipe us Christian Americans out, and all Jews. It is their bounden religious duty to do so, just read the Koran and you will see it for yourself.
I think Obama went beyond just describing the "call to prayer: in that interview. He actually recited it, in properly accented Arabic.
(We can be sure any tape the journalist made of THAT has long since been burnt.)
I disagree. I think he is and always has been a Muslim.
