Look, the reason American jobs have gone “overseas” enmasse is basically tied to the growth of Big Government and the diminished impact of creativity and growth in the private sector. This is a complicated, multi-faceted situation that will not change unless we change our politics and return to a private sector driven economy. Forgetting politics, take a look at China (The PRC) communist government, capitalist business sector, consumer driven economy Indian, semi-socialist (Changing to Capitalist), expanding private business sector, consumer driven economy. These two countries are on the march and will bypass the USA very shortly, unless we change our government. Counting on government General Motors and Chrysler is folly and....only a moron like Obama could believe his own voodoo BS. I could go on and on about both Canada and Mexico. But, the fact remains the USA has lost its MoJo and traded success in business and employment for “Big Brother” government. The USA has seen its best days unless the entire country wakes up to the reality of a dynamic and ever changing world. Counting on POTUS Obama and his Democrat “labor union” Party ain’t gonna cut the mustard, one bit!!!! Obama and his minions are going to take America down to “Third World” country status!!!

There will not be new jobs in the USA unless we force American companies to create their jobs here if they want to service our market.

Force??? As in "the power of government"??

DU really misses you.

If we want jobs created in this country, we don't "FORCE" private industry to do anything - that would only "force" them to leave completely, and take their jobs with them. We must create an environment that entices them to come back to the US and develop new industries, new growth and with it, new jobs.

Doing those things requires LOWER taxes and REDUCED government interference (meaning 'regulation') on private business. When those things occur, businesses will be clamoring to come back to the US and we will see growth that America hasn't experienced since the end of WWII.

Notice, most reports don’t show the percentage. Just the mumbo jumbo numbers. It’s the old shell game. And everything about the economy is “UNEXPECTED”.

News:

Economic Report Unexpectedly Introduces the Adverb ‘Stubbornly’

Economic reporters were surprised to learn that ‘stubbornly’ had been used in a recent economic report appearing in today’s Wall Street Journal. Economic reporters have been using ‘unexpectedly’ in all of their articles for the past 18 months. The use of a ‘stubbornly’ was unexpected. Some experts in the field had been expecting the use of a synonym, such as ‘unanticipated’, as the term ‘unexpected’ had been stubbornly over-used.

However, other wordsmiths welcome the change. Arnold T. Smith, the inventor of the term ‘gravitas’ that was widely used to describe then Vice-Presidential candidate Dick Cheney, feels that the new adjective takes the pressure off of economists. “The use of ‘unexpected’ has produced an unexpected rash of criticism of the qualifications of economic expert opinion,” said Smith, “the use of ‘stubbornly’ personifies the unemployment numbers themselves and takes the pressure off of economists to make an accurate prediction. Now we can all get mad at the numbers for refusing to follow the will of Obama instead of the economists for following the will of Obama.”

It is expected that ‘unexpected’ will stubbornly appear in some economic job reports, while ‘stubbornly’ is expected to make unexpected appearances in others.

Wrong again Troll!

Government does nothing and has NO authority to control or dictate our economy. It's sole purpose is to protect our borders, provide vital security forces, (Military) and oversee infrastructure that supports the Free Enterprise system.

The current Free Enterprise system has been literally chased away from Amerika (spelled your way) by this tyrannical and out of control, unconstitutional government!

Force business to “keep jobs here”? You mean like Nazi Germany did? You can then be proud of your National Socialism fool!

New claims for unemployment aid reach 484K

By CHRISTOPHER S. RUGABER, AP Economics Writer Christopher S. Rugaber, Ap Economics Writer 46 mins ago

WASHINGTON – The employment picture is looking bleaker as applications for jobless benefits rose last week to the highest level in almost six months.

It’s a sign that hiring is weak and employers are still cutting their staffs.

First-time claims for jobless benefits edged up by 2,000 to a seasonally adjusted 484,000, the Labor Department said Thursday. Analysts had expected a drop. That’s the highest total since February.

Welcome to FR n00bie. How about reducing the regulations, taxes and other business unfriendly environment the government has put on manufacturing? Ya think that will bring back jobs? You can't FORCE businesses to create jobs here.

“If they really wanted people to find jobs,
they’d discontinue unemployment extensions.”

Please don’t go there.

I've heard Rush use that phrase on his show more than once.

Now “stubborn” is the buzzword.

Those selfish private sector small businesses are just damn stubborn for not hiring.

They are making Dear Leader look bad.

Why should this be unexpected?

Employers are still looking at new taxes and new regulations coming from Obama.

Nothings improved yet.

You don’t need to “force” them, you know?

You create an atmosphere that make it more profitable to set up shop here.

hiring is weak and employers are still cutting their staffs

That's the new mantra I've noticed over the last couple of weeks. It's not the governments fault - it's the fault of employers who are cutting staff and refusing to hire.

Couldn't be any kind of governmental policies that are resulting in this........

You can't force companies to create jobs!

You make it attractive for them to create jobs by reducing their burden.

When a business has to hire people just to look after government regulations, IOW - non-productive labor, why not just move to somewhere that doesn't have those same regulations?

Ever notice how when states are trying to lure a manufacturing plant, the state's first move is to lessen the tax burden and suspend regulations?

But the Federal government not only wants to "punish" manufacturers from moving jobs out of the country, they also "punish" them if they remain with more and more regulations.

The only option is to not be a United States company.
