Checks helping seniors who have reached the doughnut hole
August 10, 2010
Las Vegas, NVNevada Senator Harry Reid today announced the third round of $250 Medicare rebate checks have been mailed to Nevada seniors who have reached the prescription-drug doughnut hole. Nearly 5,000 Nevada seniors have received these tax-free checks that cover the coverage gap that more than 25 percent of seniors reach while on a prescription drug regimen. These checks will work to partly close the doughnut hole this year. Next year the health reform law will take additional steps by offering seniors 50 percent discount on their brand name medications.
This third round of funding will make a difference for seniors in Nevada who otherwise would have to pay the full cost of their medication out of their own pocket, said Reid. As we close the doughnut hole, this funding will help seniors avoid having to choose between skipping pills or cutting them in half to save money. By helping Nevada seniors now and taking steps to fully close the gap, we are building a stronger Medicare and giving more seniors improved security in their health care.
oh crap o ...they just stole another upteen billion...time to shut down the printing press. there aint no money
My vote is not for sale Harry.
take the check don’t donate your vote
The Dems were busy buying votes today - seniors, unions, etc. And sadly, the nation is so deluded...that most can’t see through the tricks.
Bart Simpson: “Didn’t you wonder why you were getting checks for doing absolutely nothing?”
Grampa Simpson: “I figured because the Democrats were in power again.”
Reid is in trouble and everyone knows it. His son is running for Governor in Nevada - what’s up with that?
“The Dems were busy buying votes today”
Yep, if a private citizen offered a $250 bribe to swing someone’s vote, they’d end up in the slammer. But when the Dems use OUR tax dollars to do the identical thing, everything’s hunky dory! They’re so corrupt they don’t even recognize how corrupt this practice is.
Nearly 5,000 Nevada seniors have received these tax-free checks that cover the coverage gap that more than 25 percent of seniors reach while on a prescription drug regimen. It was paid for by cutting an expansion in the Food Stamp program -- an expansion that won't even take effect until 2014. Thanks mdittmar.
This is how they do things in third world countries - handing out government cash before elections.
Reid is lower than a Syphillic 70 Year Old Whore who gives a Freebie to a Politician named Senator REID in Las Vegas!
the Nov. elections,,,
They have been jumpin’ up and down on that “Third Rail”
for over a year now,,,
IIRC there are about 47 million old folks on Medicare now,,,
There are about 27 million vets,,,
I don't know how many draw a pension,,,
How many are on SS,,,?
Then,,,the dems tax smokes and booze,,,
Even ol’ Snakehead Carville has turned on O’Bammy over this
oil spill krap,,,
Good Nite Irene...
Rebate? Seniors don’t pay Medicare taxes. How can they get a “rebate”. Shouldn’t the person who PAYS for Medicare get the rebate?
“time to shut down the printing press. there aint no money”
There will be more “money” as long as they have paper, ink, and a printing press. The Federal Reserve announced that they will be “buying” the US debt and they will do it by printing money. I have been saying for a long time that this is the ultimate Rat idea to get rid of our debt.
I would prefer two packs of Marlboro and a 48oz bottle of Malt Liquor. It would save me a trip to the corner store.
Thank You.
Who is DingyReid sons competition?
Endorse the check to Sharon Angle. Send a fax copy of endorsement to Ried’s office.
Obama keeps chanting that Republicans don’t have any new ideas. As if the Dems’ spending and bribing are new ideas.
Remember when the Demrats were derisive of Bush’s $700 rebate?
None of these voter bribes will buy the demrats one new vote. Most voters know that they will ultimately have to pay for this down the road. And not too far down the road at that. The demrats are spending money the government does not have.
