It doesn't take much to get John and Ken into a swivet the radio duo's fan base was built on indignation but this week Meg Whitman offered them more than enough with which to work.
It was easy to predict that Whitman, having slid to the right in the primary to attract GOP voters, would sashay back to the center now that independent voters and Democrats are in the mix. But never before in California politics has anyone spent so much money to create one persona, only to switch gears and head in a different direction. Because of money alone, Whitman's switch in tone seems that much more pronounced.
In May, for example, Whitman was airing an ad in which she was described as "tough as nails" on illegal immigrants by her campaign chairman, Pete Wilson, the former governor who pressed the anti-illegal immigrant Proposition 187 in 1994.
"Illegal immigrants should not expect benefits from the state of California," Whitman said in the ad.
Now, however, she has raised billboards in Spanish citing her opposition to 187 and to the recently approved Arizona law against illegal immigrants, the toughest state measure in the country. And her campaign circulated an article it said she had written for a Spanish-language newspaper chain in which she called for a "thoughtful conversation" to solve the issue and for a "fair and practical solution" for the millions of undocumented workers now in the country.
"If I'm going around saying that I'm going to be tough as nails on immigration, and then saying I'm against 187 and Arizona to the Spanish-language folks that second message is that you'd rather have a warmer, more accessible climate" for illegal immigrants, John Kobylt, half of the radio team, said in an interview. "That's contradictory."

Whatever their sins John & Ken have rendered many a service to California voters. They have brought to light the machinations and lies of the politicians, the surreptitious passing of taxes, the bungling and ineptitude of those in office.
That is apparently true. What really pisses me off is that she thinks if she panders to Mexicans in Spanish that the rest of us won't find out...how stupid can one be? Or how stupid does she think Californians are?
Oh yeah! I'd forgotten about that..:o)
Exactly what my book talks about. We have had our religion taken out of the schools/gummit while they have brought theirs in. You need to get this book, it explains everything and how to defeat it.
Pray for America
They're the only ones in media keeping an eye on California politicians and holding their feet the the fire.
It doesn’t matter if Whitman or Brown wins, it is Californian’s who loose. I will not ever vote for a democrat (they cannot be trusted) and I am tired of voting for RINO’s (they cannot be trusted ala john mccain, lindsay graham). I am thinking of voting for the Libertarian this time around, I just cannot cast my ballot for Whitman, I’m tired of candidates who will say anything to get elected. Does anyone know if Pete Wilson is still backing her?
I'd rather juggle chain saws that vote for another political liar and fraud like Whitman
I have lived in California all my life and I will tell anyone......most Mexicans do not and will not vote Republican.
I have many Mexican friends, all conservative as heck and they vote Democrat every time. I just don’t get it but it is what it is.
If Meg is counting on Latino votes she might as well issue a congrats to Jerry Brown right now.
Point 1, surprise, surprise, Whitman has no principles. Point 2, a soft line on immigration (ie illegal invaders) is not the political center, it's on the left. And Whitman's a fool, who listens to her political consultants to believe that "moving to the center" is going to gain her votes.
Ping!
It’s hardly fake. She did it. It’s documented.
Where is it 'documented'?
Do those two useful idiots John and Ken even speak or understand spanish fluently?
Pix of the signs have been posted (yes, even here) and translations of her ads are available to those who do their homework.
El burro sabe mas que tu.

CUPERTINO - The Meg Whitman for Governor Campaign has launched a Spanish-language outdoor advertising campaign as part of a comprehensive outreach effort to California's Latino voters.
The Spanish-language ads appear on billboards and bus stops in several Southern California and Central Valley communities.
One ad reads, "MÁS TRABAJOS," or "MORE JOBS." A second ad features a quote from Meg Whitman, "NO a la Proposición 187 y NO a la Ley de Arizona," or "NO on Proposition 187 and NO on the Arizona Law."
"This represents the next step in our continued effort to communicate with Latino voters," campaign spokesman Hector Barajas said. "While these ads help clear up some misconceptions, Meg Whitman understands the importance of our Latino community and the need to get all Californians working again."
The campaign encourages voters to visit the "Latinos for Meg" webpage at www.MegWhitman.com/Latinos. The webpage is a one-stop site where Latinos can stay up to date with the latest news and happenings from the campaign trail, ask questions of Meg and learn ways to get involved in campaign activities.

Point your outrage not at John and Ken, but on the two-faced phony Meg Whitman.
Here is a video from May 2010 of Whitman saying she sympathetic to Arizona but does not think 1070 is a solution for California. She goes on to say she’d secure the border, enforce employment rules, and crack down on santuary cities.

So where is the evidence that Whitman was ever in favor of the new Arizona law?
Surely there must be something more substantial than Pete Wilson saying she’ll be ‘tough as nails” to get John & Ken’s undies in a bunch, right?
Like speaking Spanish is some kind of high complex technology?
Spanish has to be one of the most abrasive, obnoxious languages to listen to....Even millions of illiterate adults with 2nd grade educations are able to babble on in Spanish. No, I don't speak the language as I have nothing by contempt for Mexico and millions of it's people that disrespect our laws as a matter of routine.
Any knocking J&K, like you, has to be some kind of illegal alien, pro-big gov supporter.
Lets see, one of those two useful idiots supported Giuliani in the last election, and the other one voted for Obama. They both opposed Prop 8.
I guess that would make you some kind of homo-lovng, cross dressing, Jerry Brown supporter looking to gin up a fake controversy.
