On Monday, June 28, 2010, The Supreme Court reaffirmed the Second Amendment during the tria of McDonald vs. Chicago. The 5-4 ruling confirmed that neither a state nor city, acting under a grant of authority from the state, could deny a person the right to possess a firearm. This was seen as a victory for gun rights activists, but with the United Nations Small Arms and Light Weapons(SALW) treaty looming in the near future, this fight is far from over.

NRA called me last night asking for a donation. They used the UN treaty as reasoning and asked me what I thought about the treaty and possible confiscation of my firearms. I laughed and said “Good Luck” (to the treaty supporters).
I then made my donation.
So tell us, UN, how will you enforce this in the United States? You have some eager young blue helmets that want to give it a go?
God, what arrogance...
Ya, but I think we will see piles of blue helmets as they defect ala the Afghani pilots with the BMW’s (big mexican women).
The self-defense budget just got a big boost.
AR-15 type is next.
I'm also real fond of Saiga's 308 and 12 ga. Might be time to add some.
I just cannot imagine someone - anyone - telling me that they are going to take my legally purchased weapons.
Buy ammo - lots of it.
UNDERSTAND WELL... “FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS”... SAVVY?
LLS
Got my Rock River earlier this year. Trying to get mama to let me spring for an Eotech, while buying mags and 5.56.
Neighbor has installed on his AR, shot it several times - nice!
Just cuz I could, got my class 3 license and bought a Mosin Nagant - 7.62x54 - made in 1932. In real good shape and is amazingly accurate - I mean scary accurate, with iron sites.
Showed me a whole new def of "reach out and touch..."
And cost a grand total, with hard case, $130.
Way cool to shoot but ya better be ready for it. "Kick" means nothing - more like "slam".
once SALWs program is enacted all licensed manufacturers must apply a unique marking
..snip... Weapons that lack this unique marking that are confiscated, seized or collected will be destroyed.
Once the treaty is signed, if you happen to own a gun that was manufactured without this unique marking, you are in violation of the law and must turn over your weapon to authorities. This includes guns that were obtained legally.
In theory, It would seem like the 2nd amendment could be swept away with the stroke of a pen.
We are living in dangerous times.
