Piling On With Palin: Tea Party Express Backs Murkowski Rival
Congressional Quarterly ^ | June 16, 2010

Posted on 06/16/2010 8:33:50 AM PDT by Clintonfatigued

CNN reports that Tea Party Express is joining Sarah Palin in backing the longshot who wants to unseat Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski in the Republican primary.

Though lawyer Joe Miller, shown at left, has far less name identity in the state, Tea Party Express will pour in people and money to try to "level the playing field," reports CNN's Shannon Travis.

It will be interesting to see whether Republicans in Alaska view the endorsement as verification of Miller's conservative credentials or just a continuation of a family feud that started when Palin booted the senator's father, ex-senator and ex-Gov. Frank Murkowski.

I was commenting on post 18 by Mojave....

“Sarah Palin’s political action committee donated $5,000 to Murkowski’s re-election campaign last June.”

It's endorsed not endosed. For a know-it-all, you sure haven't gotten that spelling thing figured out yet.

Given you pulled your Palin attack on this out of your arse, I’d say you could use a bit more anal-retentiveness yourself.

Yes, by 2004 it was already deep in the Murkowski-Palin fight. She campaigned for her father in 2002 and when his Lt. Governor resigned she was promised the job. But Murkowski decided to keep it in the family and when it went to Lisa, the claws came out and stay extended to this day.

Palin is like a “woman scorned” Hillary in that she never forgets a slight, never forgives a perceived indiscretion against her.

I think Palin's right. I haven't forgotton that it was Ted Stevens (R-AK) who said as quoted in a Claremont institute article, "Sen. Ted Stevens of Alaska could have been speaking for the entire Senate when he told Rep. Henry Hyde, "I don't care if you prove [Clinton] raped a woman and then stood up and shot her dead—you are not going to get sixty-seven votes." The trial was over before it reached the Senate floor." as far as I'm concerned Sarah Palin fought - and continues to fight - against that wing of Alaskan Republicans. Murkowski is part and parcel of the 'establishment' Republicans. United States Senate Seats are not hand-me-downs from one relative to another. Be they R's or D's. Palin successfully fought against that corruption. More power to her.

The 'claws' should be out. They should be out by all of us to never forget that kind of nepotism. I won't forget - EVER!

Regards,

TS

Quite a compelling development, isn’t it?

Where is everyone getting the idea that Lisa Murkowski is pro-abortion? Her voting record shows mostly opposition to abortion with just a few out-layer votes on funding issues that could be taken several ways. She voted for the ban on partial birth abortions, she voted to make it a crime to harm a unborn baby in the commission of a crime, she voted for parental notification and prohibition of minors crossing state lines to get abortions.

It seems the only ones who think she is pro-abortion are the ones who have the Alan Keyes standard that you aren’t pro-life unless you push around a Cabbage Patch kid, painted red, in a stroller.

Probably from the same place where Bob got his "facts" for post 10.

Oh, it is a BobJ thing.. That explains a lot. I guess never mind on the last post, it wasn’t a real accusation, just the proverbial throwing s*** at the wall to see what sticks.

What is it with these misogynist Palin haters? Not sure “misogynist” is the right word. This is about fear, not hate...at least I think.

Personally I thought the nepotism involved should have disqualified her in the eyes of Alaskan voters but she ran and won in 2004, now she's running again and is the favorite to win.

Go figure. We don't live in Alaska, we don't vote there so who knows what's going on. But if she is good enough for Alaskan voters we may not like it but it's difficult to call a foul.

I'm no Stevens fan but I take that statement to mean they were never going to get enough votes to impeach. However one may be disgusted with it's implications, as we all were at the time, it doesn't mitigate it's possible validity.

Sarah Palin.

"Then Palin detailed her complaints about Murkowski and why she supports Miller. She said the GOP senator supports amnesty for illegal aliens, has supported using taxpayer funds for abortions and stem cell research..."

I guess you don't trust Palin.

Now you’re defending a pro-abort? You can’t be that stupid and lazy.

LM is one of those wishy washy middle of the roaders on abortion who believe abortion should be “legal but rare”. She has a lifetime NRLC rating of 50%, that should tell you something. She voted NO on restricting HHS funds for abortions and YES to stem cell research.

Why do I know more about this than Palin worshippers?

Now you’re defending a pro-abort?

Murkowski is a member of the Republican Pro-Choice Coalition, a pro-abortion group.
Murkowski is a member of the Republicans for Choice, a pro-abortion group.
Murkowski is a member of The Wish List , a pro-abortion group.

But that shouldn't disqualify her from getting SarahPAC money, should it?

I Googled “Palin endorsed Lisa Murkowski in 2004” and got back 709,000 responses that show a variation of “Palin backed Murkowski’s 2004 primary challenger”.

That should end it.

The fascinating thing is that thousands of those stories apparently are recent...which demonstrates Sarah’s power and reach. Sarah endorses somebody and the ENTIRE media industry jumps to report it.

That’s clout like NOBODY else on the right commands.

Why do most of us neanderthal, strong woman hating misogynists know more about what's going on behind the scenes in the Palin household than the “hosanna” choir in Palin’s corner? The only answer I have is that we ignore the bumper sticker slogans and sound bite rhetoric and actually do some research.

Well, when someone makes the statement “Where is everyone getting the idea that Lisa Murkowski is pro-abortion?” I can only infer they are completely ignorant of LM’s abortion positions and too lazy to do even a cursory GOOGLE search before making such a stupid comment.

Please point out where I am wrong here.

You don't Bob. You simply make up your facts to validate your ignorant based misogynistic bigotry about Palin. That trait of yours was documented 1st documented on the Freeper thread "the Qyayled Lady, why the Right should forget Sarah Palin". It has been repeated pointed out about you. I cannot decide whether to be appalled or amused by your childishly arrogant posturing as some sort of great intellectual thinker around here. You are nothing of the sort. What you are, in fact, is increasingly shameless liar.
