Palin, Don't Let Them Call You Quitter!
vanity

Posted on 06/10/2010 7:26:39 AM PDT by CondoleezzaProtege

Come 2012, Palin must not let Romneycare, Pawlenty, Gingrich-scozzafava, and ultimately Obama get away with the "you're a quitter" mantra--especially Obama, who essentially quit his barely 2 year term in the Senate before it even started so he can run for President.

It's not about the time one serves in office, but what one accomplishes IN THAT TIME.

As governor, Palin accomplished more in two years than most governors do in 4 to 8-- and she didn't leave her state in debt or with a failed universal healthcare system like Romney did! In the 2012 primaries, she needs to have confidence that what she achieved for her state surpasses what her opponents had for theirs.

While out of office, Palin has accomplished more than the others combined. The Tea Party movement would have never taken off the way it had without her presence. Several contested primaries would have gone hopelessly awry without her crucial endorsements, and the healthcare bill would have passed a lot sooner and been worse without her "death panels" comment.

Most importantly: she's the only one brave enough to speak out on highly contentious issues (such as calling Gore out on "Climategate.") She has been the most articulate and effective in exposing and criticizing the Obama Admin for the direction they are taking this country. She was the highest profile leader to be the first to take the risk in endorsing anti-establishment, underdog candidates such as Doug Hoffman in the NY-23. Showing that above all, she is willing to challenge the GOP establishment-machine, while her fellow GOP contenders rely on it or kiss up to it, or are a part of it.

Not to mention, Palin has never "quit" on taking firm stances on the most important core issues, especially abortion, while her fellow contenders are major flip floppers. (I wonder if Romney will claim to be pro-life and if greenie Gingrich will now admit manmade global warming is untrue.)

This won’t matter to the Paulbots, Mythbots, 1%ers, and the Purists.

In fact, this thread should be like Moths to a flame, they’ll be here any second to tell you how much a RINO she is, that she is unqualified, and she is a quitter.

What is shameful, is that they are mimicking the left-wing press.

AMEN! Well said! Sarah has such an extensive resume that it bewilders me when people say she doesn’t have any experience. I mean, seriously? She’s got more executive branch experience than Obama will ever have!

Plus, her influence over the elections is powerful. The majority of the people she has endorsed have won their respective elections. As Bill Kristol said, “If you’re a Republican candidate, you want Sarah Palin’s endorsement.”

We’re gonna take back Congress this year and then the presidency in 2012. It’s about time America had a female president and it’ll be great to see the liberals’ heads explode when a CONSERVATIVE woman is inaugurated as President of the United States on January 20, 2013.

Face it...she quit, she resigned, she 86 her job, she vacated the office, she didn’t fulfill her term as Governor. Lots of terms apply. That being said it not necessarily a bad thing. People quit jobs every day for good reasons as well as bad. The one thing you can say is that she wasn’t fired.

I'm sorry, how is she going to stop them?

BTW - Could you please list Palin’s accomplishments as Governor? Besides the “pipeline to no where” which will probably never get built all she's got is the huge tax increase on business. She never balanced a single budget, instead having to draw on reserves to make up for deficits.

And please don't talk about how she put all those corrupt pubbies in jail, that investigation had been going on log before her, even the indictments were handed down before she was sworn in.

And lastly, please don't mention the “bridge to no where” which she strongly supported until she found out the taxpayers in the other 49 stats weren't going to pay for it. When she looked us in the eye at the Rep convention and stated she said “No thanks” she was outright lying to us. When I heard that it strangely reminded me of Bill Clinton looking us in the eye and saying “I never slept with that woman”.

Quitting and triumph cannot co-exist with each other.

Once Palin acts as a catalyst for the ultimate triumph of the GOP winning back one or both houses the quitting meme will receive the burial it deserves.

Uh... I’d say that’s a bit of an exageration.

You'll have to explain that one as they sure sound the same.

Attributing the effort and success of others to Palin is an initiation requirement for Palinistahood.

Ok, fine. She didn’t quit. She merely left office prematurely, under no cloud of suspicion or scandal, without having violated any laws but simply because she felt pressure from socialists.

AHAH. You HATE her admit it! She didnt quit she resigned. That is much more presidential and principle oriented. She couldnt work for FNC (or do the book tour) if she stayed governor, everyone will understand that.

The issue that I have with her decision to leave the office of Governor is that she served up, on a silver platter, the ammunition for her opponents to use against her.

Regardless of how it is rationalized it was a poor strategy to use in developing her campaign for higher office, if indeed obtaining higher office is her goal.

So she resigned for the money, then. I was not going to make that statement and be attacked for it, but I am glad you were honest about it, here I gave her the benefit of the doubt to allow that she did it to focus on bigger things rather than simply money.
