Four conservative activists accused of trying to tamper with the phones in Sen. Mary Landrieu's office have pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of entering federal property under false pretenses.
The most prominent activist, James O'Keefe, was sentenced to three years probation, 100 hours of community service and fined a $1,500 fine. The 25-year-old is known for wearing a pimp costume in a video that embarrassed ACORN.
Magistrate Daniel Knowles III sentenced the three others to two years probation, 75 hours of community service and fined them $1,500.

"With the New Partys rise and its entanglements with ACORN [Association of Community Organizers For Reform Now] came the rise of Barack Obama. According to Stanley Kurtz, Acorn is the key modern successor of the radical 1960s New Left, with a 1960s-bred agenda of anti-capitalism to match. And Barack Obama was ACORNs lawyer."

From Obama's official website:
When Obama met with ACORN leaders in November, he reminded them of his history with ACORN and his beginnings in Illinois as a Project Vote organizer, a nonprofit focused on voter rights and education. Senator Obama said, "I come out of a grassroots organizing background. That's what I did for three and half years before I went to law school. That's the reason I moved to Chicago was to organize. So this is something that I know personally, the work you do, the importance of it. I've been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career. Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work.
ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) is the nation's largest community organization of low- and moderate-income families, with over 350,000 member families organized into 800 neighborhood chapters in 104 cities across the country. Since 1970 ACORN has taken action and won victories on issues of concern to its members, including better housing for first time homebuyers and tenants [Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac scandal! -ETL], living wages for low-wage workers, more investment in our communities from banks and governments, and better public schools.

Why is this even a crime? If taxpayer money is paying for those phones then we should have a right to listen to EVERYTHING that is being said by using them.
And the "Justice" department walks away from thugs with bats outside a polling booth in Philadelphia?
Where's the outrage? If they can do this to us and get away with felonies, who are we?!
Wrong. Only the NY Times gets access to secret info.
He has done tremendous community service already.
I would think that there were a lot of additional tapes that were not shown as a result of this incident. I wonder if Breitbart will start putting them out again.
Seems to me the Resident and plenty of Congress persons have committed the same crime, or worse.
Suspect they are saving them for timely release before the mid-terms. Sure hope so!
About a year ago, Brietbart said he had some pretty hot stuff he was saving to release just before the mid-terms.
......guilty to misdemeanor charges of entering federal property under false pretenses.
