Brazil, the same country where they had a 7 yr old girl as the lead dancer for Carnival this year.
That was disgusting.
What was disgusting, my post or their use of a 7 yr old?
their use of a 7 yr old?
“their use of a 7 yr old?”
Are you asking or telling?
Do you always talk in riddles?
My apologies, I was (poorly) attempting to state that the use of that 7 year old little girl in Brazils’ parade was disgusting.
That’s disgusting
I agree.
Yea, does that mean the boy deserved to be raped by his priest?
“Yea, does that mean the boy deserved to be raped by his priest?”
No it means we should look at Brazil for what it is. An anti-American country which supports the sexualization of children.
They also support the shooting of homeless children in the street.
So they did deserve it
That little boy probably enticed that priest to rape him
Is there anything else you would like to say to blame the victim and not the pedophile priest?
We must after sll protect the priest at all costs ..
Get over yourself. I said nothing about protecting the priest. People like you use horrible cases like this to attack an entire religion when its really a few people.
From 2 posts later-"People like you use horrible cases like this to attack an entire religion when its really a few people."
Excuse me. The way I read your posts, you are simply whitewashing the whole thing. When someone points out a priest raped these children you justified it as the whole county does it so what's new. Then you say it's an attack on the Church. If there is criticism of the priest, you have muted it with the attitude, "Hey you're attacking the Church."
Personally I'm getting a bit sick and tired of mealymouthed Catholics on this site whinny about how every pedophile priest is an "attack" on the Church. They seem to be more interested in protecting the Church then they are in condemning the priests and demanding justice. I would remind Catholics (or any Christian for that matter), God takes a very dim view of our attitudes towards children and how other people treat them.
Catholics should be the first to demand that these priests be excommunicated. Instead we find the attitude, "Hey, everyone does it. Let's just move him to another parish."
We're NOT talking about the pagan people of Brazil who minds are darkened to the truth. We're talking about SUPPOSEDLY God's representatives on earth.
Not really. We're just tired of people talking of it as if it's a strictly Catholic phenomenon.
You'll get no argument from me as to what should be done to these 'priests': excommunicate them, keep them from endangering the people of the flock, and handed over to legal authorities so that they face proper judgment under the law of their own country.
At least, that's my opinion.
Christians are suppose to measure far beyond the standard of the world. The church is suppose to be a beacon to the lost. It is not suppose to mirror the world's "phenomenon".
Christians sin all the time. However, people are right to criticize any Christian for our failings. We should take it to heart, repent, and ask forgiveness; not just be tired of hearing people complain.
Whitewashing? Go ride your harley and leave he discussion to adults.
BTW I’m not a catholic nor do I whine.
Your words minimized the rape and implied that Brazil encourages this by sexualizing their children
If this priest was in iran he still would have done this.. it has NOTHING to do with the country, their political positions, or what they allow do or do not allow their children to do.
This has to do with justice for the child .
BTW we do not do bad sexualizing kids in this country as well ..look around you
That was not even a part of this discussion ..this is about excusing a pedophile by blaming the victim
